SSC JE 2022 will be administered by Staff Selection Commission to recruit Junior Engineers of different branches (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) for various Central Government organizations such as the Central Water Commission, Central Public Works Department, Department of Post, Military Engineering Services, National Technical Research Organisation, Border Roads Organisation, etc. The exam consists of two papers – Paper-I (CBT) and Paper-II (Conventional Type). SSC works under the Government of India and recruits staff for various posts in Ministries and Departments of the Government of India.

SSC JE Exam 2022 Pattern & Syllabus
SSC JE 2022 Exam Pattern
The SSC JE 2022 exam pattern consists of two stages – Paper-I (Computer Based Test) and Paper-II (Written Exam). The qualified applicants will be called for the descriptive paper. Let’s have a detailed look at the Staff Selection Commission JE exam pattern -
SSC JE Paper I –
Objective-type questions will be asked from areas such as General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Engineering (Civil and Structural/Electrical/Mechanical). In the general engineering section, candidates have to answer the questions related to their subject selected while filling out the application form. The total duration of the Paper I exam is 120 minutes. The online exam has a provision for a negative marking scheme. 1/4th marks will be deducted in case of an incorrect answer.

SSC JE Paper-II –
It consists of three sections – Part A (Civil & Structural), Part B (Electrical), and Part C (Mechanical). The test-takers have to select from these parts according to the post they have applied for. The exam will be held offline. There is no provision for negative marking for the second paper.

SSC JE Exam 2022 Eligibility
Nationality -
A candidate must be either
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement in India or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Zaire, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia and Vietnam with intention of permanent settlement in India
Educational Qualification -
- For SSC JE (Civil): 3 years diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent course from a recognized institute. 2 years experience in civil construction is desirable for some posts
- For SSC JE (Electrical & Mechanical): 3 years diploma in Engineering (Electrical and Mechanical) from a recognized university. 2 years experience in electrical or mechanical engineering is desirable.

SSC JE Exam 2022 Application Process
The SSC JE 2022 application process is self-explanatory. Candidates are required to apply for the exam only through the official website. The steps are given below -
- Visit the official website of SSC JE
- Click on the “Apply” tab on the home-page
- A pop-up window will appear, select the “JE” tab and click on the link to apply online
- If applying for the SSC recruitment process for the first time, click on new registration.
- Upon registration, the Commission will send a registration ID and password
- Using the registration Id and password, log in to complete the form. Enter all the details asked for in the specified fields, upload a photograph (4kb x 20kb) and signature (1kb x 12kb), select the exam center/city, choose the post you want to apply and pay the application fee to complete the process
- Take a printout of the confirmation page
SSC JE Application Fee 2022
The candidates belonging to the general categories are required to pay ₹ 100/-, while the female candidates, ex-servicemen, and candidates belonging to the reserved categories are exempted from application fee payment. Application fees can be paid through both offline (e-challan) and online (net banking/credit or debit card) modes of payment.

SSC Junior Engineer 2022 Process of Selection -
Apprentices will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained in all the rounds i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2 Round. Here are the stages that a student needs to follow in order to qualify for the examination.
- Stage 1: The written examination of Paper 1 consists of all the Objective Type Questions which will be held online and will be for 200 marks in total.
- Stage 2: The examination pattern of Paper 2 consists of all the Conventional Type Questions which will be held offline and will be 300 marks in total.
Final selection will be done based on the candidate’s performance in Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates’ preference provided at the time of Document Verification.

SSC JE Exam 2022 Admit Card
