The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts various recruitment examinations for filing different posts in the Government departments/ ministries. In this article, we will be discussing one such examination i.e. Constable General Duty commonly known as SSC GD exam 2022-23. SSC Constable GD posts are announced in:

SSC GD 2022-23 Latest Update:
- SSC will release the Application Form for SSC GD Constable 2022-23 on 10th December 2022.
- The last date to fill out the form for SSC GD Constable 2022-23 is 19th January 2023.
- The exam date is yet to be announced but tentatively will be in March/April 2023.

SSC Constable GD Exam 2022 Pattern & Syllabus
The SSC GD Constable exam comprises the following selection process:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test / Physical Standard Test (PET/ PST)
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
Phase I - Computer Based Examination (CBE)

Phase II - Physical Efficiency Test / Physical Standard Test (PET/ PST)
Candidates who qualify for the CBE stage are required to appear for the PET/ PST phase. The exam will be conducted at the examination centers finalized by the CAPFs. Here are the details of the physical tests:

Phase III - Detailed Medical Examination (DME)
After qualifying for the PET/ PST phase, the candidates are required to take the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) before joining their respective posts

Candidates are required to take Haemoglobin, Medical Test (X-Ray) chest-PA view, Urine routine/ microscopic, and Blood Pressure examination.
Candidates must not have a flat foot, squint in eyes, knock knee, or varicose.
Tattoos with religious names, figures, and symbols are permitted. Tattoos marked on the inner aspect of the forearm (only left), dorsum of the hands or non-saluting limb are allowed. The tattoo must be less than 1/4th of the body part.

Elementary Mathematics
Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and the relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Interest, Averages, Profit and Loss, Mensuration, Discount, Ratio and Time, Time and Distance, Time and Work, etc.
English/ Hindi
Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Improvement of Sentences, Idioms & Phrases, One Word Substitution, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect Speech, Para jumbles, Cloze Passage, Reading Comprehension. The same topics will be covered in the Hindi language too.
SSC Constable GD Exam 2022 Eligibility
Nationality / Citizenship
The candidate must be an Indian citizen. As the vacancies are state/ UT-wise, the candidates are required to submit the domicile for his/her state/ UT.
Age Limit
The minimum age limit for the exam is 18 years and the maximum is 23 years as of 1st August 2022. In other words, the candidate should not have been born before 2nd August 1997 and after 2nd August 2002. Only the matriculation certificate will be considered as the date of birth proof. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to reserved category candidates:

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed class 10th/ Matriculation from a recognized Board/ University. Please note that candidates who haven’t completed their qualifications as of 1st August 2022 will not be eligible to apply for the exam.
SSC Constable GD Exam 2022 Application Process
The SSC GD Constable application form has been available on the official website. Candidates will be able to fill out the application forms through the official website. Here are the steps to apply for the examination:
How to Apply for the SSC GD Exam 2022-23?
- Go to the official website - https://ssc.nic.in.
- Click on the ‘APPLY’ button at the top.
- Select the ‘Constable-GD’ tab and click on the link to apply.
- Start with the registration for the exam if you are applying for an SSC exam for the first time. However, if you have applied for any SSC exam before, use your ID and password to log in.
- Complete the registration process, and application process carefully, and upload the scanned images of the photograph and signature. The photograph must be between 4 KB to 201 KB and the signature must be between 1 KB to 12 KB. The scanned images must be clear.

SSC Constable GD Exam 2022 Other Details
SSC GD Constable Admit Card 2022-23
Candidates who have successfully registered for the exam will be able to download the admit card from the official website. Candidates can use their registration ID and password to download the admit card. Different admit cards will be released for the CBE and PET examinations. Admit cards can be downloaded from the official regional RRBs’ website.
Candidates need to carry the SSC GD Constable admit card to the examination center for appearing in the examination. Please keep the admit card safe till the examination process gets over.
SSC GD Exam Answer Key 2022-23
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) uploads the SSC GD Constable answer key to the official website a few months after the computer-based examination. The answer key will help the candidates in calculating their estimated scores.
SSC GD Constable Cut-Off 2022-23
Candidates who secure the following minimum eligibility criteria in the Computer Based Examination (CBE), will pass the exam. The cut-off details are as under:
- For General and Ex-servicemen: 35%
- For OBC/ SC/ ST: 33%
SSC GD Constable Exam Results 2022-23
The SSC GD constable result will be available on the official SSC website. Candidates can check their results through their registered IDs. The Sarkari result will be declared on the basis of the candidate's performance in the Computer Based Test. The PET/PST and the Medical examination will be of qualifying nature.
