Registration opens for World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2019, Apply before 31 December 2018

To celebrate the life in a forest, the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) Bhopal invites applications for the World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2019. Those applicants who are belonging to any college/university or any environment/forest management professional background are eligible to apply. The contest organizes with a motive to expand the key message of saving forestry life to a large number of masses across the country. This is an initiative to bring people together and supports every aspect of nature and persuades people to protect them.

The World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2019 aims to spread awareness with the help of similar minded people or professionals. Every year the contest asks natives to go outside and capture some creative pictures of Forests and wildlife. The last date to enrol for the World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2019 is 31 December 2018.

Scholarship Amount:

The World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2019 provides an opportunity to the top three winners of the completion and offers them a reward price worth of ₹ 25,000, ₹ 20,000 and ₹ 15,000 respectively. Along with the cash prize, the best photographs of the screening round will shortlist for the exhibition in Indian Institute of Forest Management Bhopal.

Nationality:

  • Only Indian residents are allowed to apply.

 

Educational Background:

  • An applicant must be enrolled in any recognized Indian college or university.
  • Those participants who are belonging to any college/university or any environment/forest management professional are also eligible to apply.

Participants who are not eligible:

 

  • The members of the organizing team will not consider as an eligible candidate.
  • Employees of the Indian Institute of Forest Management Bhopal may enter their registration in the contest but they will not get nominated for any reward money.

Steps to Apply:

Applicants can send their entry through both online or offline mode.

For the online mode of application: Participants are advised to send a soft copy of the photograph and email at [email protected]. Candidates need to submit the file name of an image in the given format: Contestant First Name_College/ organization.

For the offline mode of application: Participants need to send a copy of the photograph in (8X10 inch) to the below-mentioned address:

Also, applicants need to write down their name, email id, contact number, location, date, and time along with the caption of the photograph on the backside of a copy.

Selection Criteria:

The entries of the contest will be evaluated by the expert panel of the World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2019. The jury will decide the winners on the following basis:

  1. Quality of the photograph (tone, colors, sharpness, exposure, etc)
  2. Creative key message (An idea of the picture, and caption)

Firstly students will be shortlisted on the basis of their photographs. After that only 10% of total entries will shortlist for the screening round. At last, only the top 3 most versatile shots will be selected as a winner and receive a cash prize decided by the organizers.

Rules and Regulations:

  • The contestants need to capture the ideal shots of flora and fauna conservation while clicking the photographs.
  • Those images which will disobey or violate the forest conservation ideas will face disqualification.
  • Participants need to submit a sum total of 2 photographs for the contest.
  • The pictures of the contest must be taken in India.
  • The size of the photographs must be in 1024X768 pixels only.
  • Candidates need to submit their original work in TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF or in Raw Format.
  • The date or day will be mentioned at the top side of the picture.
  • The decision of the jury will be considered as final.
  • The jury will reserve the rights to call for original content to verify.
