The Clean Energy Challenge is an initiative to change the way of our daily lives.  The program has been started by the IKEA Foundation and designed by the Amsterdam based designing company. The Challenge is designed with a topic of ‘What Design Can Do’ and offers an opportunity to present some creative and innovative solutions for critical energy and environmental issues.

The Clean Energy Challenge 2018 is a worldwide contest and invites participants to submit their entry across 5 globally famous cities- São Paulo, Nairobi, New Delhi, México City, and Amsterdam. For each metropolis 'What Design Can Do' has crafted locally with a precise briefing informed by global key issues and real stories. It’s a platform for creative thinkers and designers to impress our juries with a unique idea of power saving, energy efficient and renewal of energy.

The Clean Energy Challenge 2018 aims to help entrepreneurs to rethink and transform the way of generating and using energy in urban areas. The deadline for entry submission is 15 November 2018. The Clean Energy Challenge covers the duration of one year and builds a purpose of an energy upgrade and wasting energy as little as possible.

Steps to Apply:

Register to make an Account-

  • Visit the official website of the Clean Energy Challenge 2018.
  • Generate your email Id and password to register yourself.

Create your Profile-

  • Now, Log in with your registered email Id and password and update your profile.

Upload your Project-

  • Then, click on ‘Submit New Project’ tab.
  • Fill all the required details and complete the process of filling the application form.

Submit your Work-

  • At last, submit your project for the contest.

Note: The applicants will get a notification from the organizers of the competition as soon as the submission has been approved. Students will submit their entry only one time.

Selection Procedure:

Winners will be evaluated on the basis of their creativity, impactful message, the relevance of the content and commitment.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Multiple entries will not be accepted.
  • Committee will select the winners and no one has a right to challenge their decision.
  • Applicants can choose their participating category only in one category either in student, professional or start-up.
  • Judgment will be completely based on the relevance, impact, feasibility, excitement, scalability, and commitment.
