State Scholarship Portal (SSP) is designed to offer scholarships to Karnataka domicile students. The scholarship portal is run by the Government of Karnataka for effective implementation of various SSP pre-matric and SSP post-matric scholarships offered by different government departments. The scholarships under the SSP scheme are designed to offer financial support to meritorious students (irrespective of category, caste, or gender) for pursuing higher education. The funds are disbursed through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Post-matric scholarship for SC students

  • Students must have a domicile of Karnataka
  • Must have secured a minimum of 50% or equivalent grades in the last final exam
  • Annual family income must be ₹ 2.5 lakh or less

Post-matric scholarship for ST students

Vidyasiri scholarship

  • Student must have domicile of Karnataka and belong to SC/ ST or minority community
  • Must have secured 75% attendance in the academic year
  • Annual family income must be ₹ 2 lakh or less (for SC/ ST) and 1 lakh or less (for OBC)

Post-matric scholarship for backward classes students

  • Must have domicile of Karnataka and belong to the backward category.
  • Must be pursuing post-matriculation level education
  • Must have secured at least 50% marks (for category 1) and 60% (for category 2A, 3A, and 3B) in the last examination
  • Annual family income must be less than ₹ 2.5 lakh

Fee reimbursement for backward classes students

  • Must have Karnataka domicile and belong to backward classes
  • Must have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in the last exam
  • Annual family income must be ₹ 2 lakh or less

Post-matric scholarship for minorities

  • Must have a domicile of Karnataka
  • Must be studying in classes 11th, 12th, UG, PG, M.Phil., Ph.D, Technical or Vocational courses
  • Must have scored a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the last exam.
  • Annual family income must be less than or equal to ₹ 2.5 lakh
  • Must be belonging to a minority community viz. Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Zoroastrian/ Parsi

Merit-cum-means scholarship for minorities

  • Must have a domicile of Karnataka
  • Must be in class 9th
  • Must have scored 55% or equivalent marks in class 8 (50% for SC/ ST)
  • Annual family income must be less than ₹ 2.5 lakh

Fee reimbursement for engineering and Diploma in engineering SC/ ST students

  • Must have a domicile of Karnataka
  • Annual family income should be between ₹ 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh
  • Defence Scholarship - ST/ SC students’ parents must be in Army/ Airforce/ Navy or working as JCO/ NCO/ lower rank

Fee reimbursement for medical SC/ ST students

  • Must have domicile of Karnataka
  • Annual family income must be between ₹ 2.5 lakh to 10 lakh

Post-matric scholarship for Karnataka state brahmin

  • Must have a domicile of Karnataka and belong to a Brahmin community

SSP Scholarship 2021 - Application Process

Candidates are required to apply for the SSP scholarship through the official Karnataka State Scholarship Portal only. Here are the steps for filing the application form.

Steps for Filling the Scholarship Application

  • Visit the official website at ssp.postmatric.karnataka.gov.in.
  • Click on the ‘Post-Matric Scholarship for FY 2021-22’ link.
  • Now, click the Create Account button.
  • Enter the details asked for, tick the consent, and click on the Proceed button.
  • After this, your Aadhaar will be seeded with your bank account.
  • Provide a mobile number, email ID, and enter OTP. Now, click the Submit button.
  • Now, enter your certificate details and click the Proceed button.
  • Check your name and move to the next step.
  • If you have a ration card, tick yes, and enter the details.
  • Create a password and click on the Submit button.
  • Now, again move to the home page and click on the Student Login option.
  • Enter the user name, password, and captcha to log in.
  • After login, complete the scholarship application form. Fill in all the details carefully.
  • Upload the required documents and submit the application.

Question 1: Can students of other states apply for scholarships through the SSP portal?

No. The scholarships are applicable only for Karnataka state students.

Students from classes 1st to 10th can apply for pre-matric scholarships.
