International General Knowledge Olympiad 2018 for Class 1-10 Students
The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) 2018. Students from classes 1st to 10th can take part and get a chance to win rewards. SOF is spending over 16 crores on awards, scholarships, gifts and other rewards for the academic year 2018-19.
The Olympiad is a single level exam that declares results at four different levels: -
- School
- City
- Zonal
- International
International G.K. Olympiad 2018 Latest Notification: The closing date to submit applications for the Olympiad was 11th August 2018 and 25th August 2018. Schools have the option to conduct the exam either on 11th September 2018 or on 25th September 2018 as per their convenience.

Eligibility Criteria
Students from classes 1st to 10th studying in recognised schools are eligible to apply for this exam.

How to Apply
Simple steps to apply for the exam are: -
- Students can only apply through their respective schools.
- Each school has to register by sending a request at [email protected].
- SOF will send prospectus of the Olympiad to all the registered schools.
- The schools need to collect a registration fee of ₹125 from each participating student.
- Then, the school has to submit the registration forms to SOF before the deadline.
Exam Pattern
The exam pattern consists of two groups. The first group consists of classes 1st to 4th, while the second group consists of classes 5th to 10th.

Terms and Conditions
Go through these terms and conditions to learn all about the exam:
- Each school requires registering a minimum of 10 students for the exam.
- Since there are two dates for the exam, a school can choose one date as per their convenience.
- The exam duration for all the classes is 60 minutes.
- The examination will take place only during the school hours.
- SOF is responsible for distributing the cash prize if there two or more applicants who get the same rank.
Here’s how the distribution will take place: -
International Level Winners
The reward amount is distributed equally for nine candidates receiving the same rank. Additionally, each winner will get a medal (in his/her applicable category) and a certificate.
If there are 10 or more children getting the same rank, each candidate will get gifts worth ₹1,000 each and a medal (in his/her applicable category) and a certificate.
Zonal Level Winners
The reward amount is distributed equally for four candidates receiving the same rank. Additionally, each winner will get a medal (in his/her applicable category) and a certificate.
If there are 5 or more children getting the same rank, each candidate will get gifts worth ₹1,000 each and a medal (in his/her applicable category) and a certificate.
