SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) 2018-19

Science Olympiad Foundation offers a platform for the praiseworthy and ambitious girl students from class 1^st to class 10^th. The basic aim of the foundation is to encourage meritorious students from the economically weaker community by providing much-needed financial assistance and enable them to pursue their dream education.  

Scholarship Award

Under the SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme (GCSS) 2018-19 fellowship scheme 300 needy girl students will be chosen from all over the nation and are provided with the help of ₹ 5000/- each for their education for a full year. The scholarship is only valid for the duration of one year. The scholars will be selected on the basis nominations and their pure talent.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Education Qualifications: The applicant must have passed and scored at least 60 % marks or equivalent in her earlier class.

This marks condition is not applicable to a child who is having the major physical disability. 

Family Income: The income of the applicant’s family should not exceed INR 15000 per month.

Additional Information: This scholarship is only available for the girl students from class 1^st to class 10^th. There will be only one girl from one school selected for this fellowship scheme.

Note: The qualified scholars of SOF Girl Child Scholarship Scheme 2018-19 will get the notifications through their respective schools. The result of the SOF Committee will be considered as the final.

Steps to Apply for the Scholarship

• The application for the fellowship is to be made by the school.
• A school may select a student as per the eligibility criteria and send a proposal for GCSS.
• The proposal should be duly signed by the school Head Master/ Head Mistress or by the Principal to recommend a girl child.
• The duly filled Proposal is filled in a specific format along with the complete attachments and a copy of her previous year’s report card duly signed by the principal.

Applicants need to send a copy of previous year’s report card which is duly signed or certified by the school principal.

Selection Procedure

1. From the shortlisted candidates, the selection of the scholars for the award of fellowship will be based on the following basis:
2. All proposals received by the National Office of Science Olympiad Foundation will be evaluated by a Committee set up by SOF.
3. Scholars of Girl Child Scholarship Scheme 2018- 19 will be notified individually and through respective schools.
4. The decision of the SOF Committee will be final and obligatory.

Terms and Conditions:

• Each school may send a proposal only for one eligible girl student.
• After attempting the first term exam the applicant needs to send a scanned copy of her 1st term examination report card duly signed by the principal of respective child school to SOF GCSS.
• The marks criteria are not applicable to a child with a major physical disability.
• In case of any dispute, jurisdiction will vest with Delhi courts only.
• The scholarship amount and the student's number may vary from time to time. Individuals/ Schools are requested to check the official website of SOF.
