Eligibility Criteria Required for the ONGC Scholarship
The complete set of eligibility requirements are dispersed as under:
- One should hold Indian citizenship.
- The family income of the applicants must be less than ₹ 2 Lakhs per annum.
- The education requirements are as under:
- For Engineering Students - A candidate must have done Class 12th from a recognized college/ university.
- For MBA Students - A candidate should have done Graduation from a recognized college/ university.
- For MBBS Students - A candidate should have done Class 12th from a recognized college/ university.
- For Masters in Geology and Geophysics - A candidate should have done Graduation from a recognized college/ university.
How Can I Apply for ONGC Scholarship 2021?
To successfully apply for the scholarship scheme, one should need to fill the online ONGC Scholarship Application Form 2021. To fill the steps, candidates are requested to follow these steps:
- Visit the official website: https://ongcscholar.org.
- Click on the ‘Apply Scholarship’ option on the home page.
- Click on the drop-down icon as per your category.
- Read the instructions and tick the check-box for instructions.
- As soon as you tick the check-box, the ‘Apply’ button will appear. Click it. Also, The format of declaration and undertaking is also provided in the section. Download the same, fill these, and get attested. These need to be uploaded in the document upload section.
- After clicking the ‘Apply’ button, you will be redirected to the application form.
- Fill in the basic information and click the Next button to move ahead.
- Provide details such as address, qualification, financial details, and bank information.
- Upload all the required documents and submit the application form.
- The hard copy of the application form must reach the designated ONGC office of your zone.

Documents Required for ONGC Scholarship 2021
The applications of the fellowship scheme will remain incomplete without uploading certain important documents, as mentioned under:
- Passport size photograph of the candidate
- Caste certificate
- Age proof (birth certificate/ class 10th mark sheet)
- Annual family income certificate
- Marksheet of the qualifying examination
- Copy of PAN details
- Bank details
- Copy of Aadhaar card
- Copy of the undertaking
Selection Criteria for ONGC Scholarship 2021
It is a merit-based scholarship where your academic performance will be considered for the final selection. Marks of the last passed examination are considered for preparing the final list of selected candidates. For example, for graduation courses, class 12th marks are considered and for post-graduation courses, graduation level marks are considered. If two or more students have the same marks, the one with lower family income will be selected. The first preference will be given to those belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.
Terms and Conditions for ONGC Scholarship
Here are the conditions for disbursement of scholarship as set by ONGC:
- Candidates must not be receiving any other scholarship or financial assistance.
- Scholars must obtain at least 50% marks or 5 grade points out of 10 every year to ensure the continuation of scholarship.
- The conduct of the scholars will also be accessed for the continuation of the scholarship.
- If the candidate fails to maintain the academic requirements, the scholarship for that year will be discontinued.
- In case the scholarship is discontinued, candidates can renew it by filling the renewal form only if they have maintained the set percentage or grades.
