Odisha Government Declares E-Medhabruti Scholarship for Non- SAMS Students
The Department of Higher Education in Odisha started a scholarship scheme named as E-Medhabruti for the outstanding and meritorious students of the state. The Odisha Govt. initiated and takes the first step to provide support and motivation to the brilliant students who want to pursue higher studies in general, technical and professional courses in India.
Every year, deserving students are honored with this scholarship scheme through State’s Higher Education Department purely on the merit-cum-means basis. Under this scholarship program, the state government avails financial access to the fellow students for their studies. To uplift the confidence level of the minority group students of Odisha, who have a clear vision to take admission in the technical and professional institutes across the country, here is your chance to grab this opportunity and prove yourself.

The Govt. of Odisha invites applicants for the E-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme 2018. This time the scholarship applications are only available for Non- SAMS students (students not admitted through the e-admission process of SAMS portal). To avail, the benefits of this fellowship applicant are advised to enrol themselves on or before 14 October 2018.
More about the Scholarship:
The E-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme 2018 covers four categories as follows-
- Junior Merit Scholarship Scheme (on Class 12th level)
- Senior Merit Scholarship Scheme (on Graduation level)
- Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme
- Technical/ Professional Scholarship Scheme

Benefits under E-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme 2018:
For Junior Merit Scholarship Scheme:
- Those candidates who are selected for the Junior Level Medhabruti Scholarship will get ₹300/- per month for the duration of 10 months in a year.
- The scholarship is available for the period of 2 years.
- Only 10,000 students get an opportunity to avail the benefits of this fellowship.
For Senior Merit Scholarship Scheme:
- Those participants who are selected for the Senior Level Medhabruti Scholarship will get ₹500/- per month for the duration of 10 months in a year.
- The scholarship is available for the period of 3 years. It means each beneficiary student can get ₹ 15,000 at the Senior Level.
- Only 3,000 students get an opportunity to avail the benefits of this fellowship.
For Post Graduate Merit Scholarship Scheme:
- Students who are selected for Post Graduation Level Medhabruti Scholarship will get ₹ 1000/- per month for the duration of 10 months in a year.
- The total scholarship is available for the period of 2 years. It means selected students can get ₹ 20,000/- on the PG level.
- The total number of scholarship is 1500.
For Technical/ Professional Scholarship Scheme:
- Applicants who are selected for Technical or Professional Level Medhabruti Scholarship will get ₹ 1000/- per month for the duration of 10 months in a year.
- The total scholarship is available for the period of 2 years. It means selected students can get ₹ 20,000/- on the Technical or Professional level.
- The total number of scholarship is 10,000.
How to get the benefits of E-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme 2018:
To avail the benefits of the fellowship, candidates should have a saving bank account. The award money of the scholarship is distributed through the ECS (Electronic Credit System) directly to the selected beneficiaries’ bank account. It should be noted that in case the candidates do not receive the scholarship amount in any financial year, then it would be transferred to them in the succeeding fiscal year.
Eligibility Criteria:
General Eligibility:
Nationality: Only Indian Citizens who are permanently settled in Odisha are eligible to apply.
Income Details: The family income of the participant must not exceed the limit of INR 6 Lakhs per annum.
Additional Information: The student shall apply for the E-Medhabruti Scholarship Scheme after cleared their +2 level educations and want to join 1st year of college.

For the Engineering and Architecture course: The total number of reserved scholarship is - 7,000.
For the M.B.B.S course: The total number of reserved scholarship is – 700.
For the B.D.S course: The total number of reserved scholarship is – 300.
For the Master level studies in MCA, MBA, MFC, PGDM: The total number of reserved scholarship is – 500.
For the Agriculture Science course: The total number of reserved scholarship is – 1500. |

Terms and Conditions:
- The scholarship is given in the ratios of 50:50 between girls and boys. In case, the number of the boys or girls is lesser than the number of the available scholarships, then it would be retained to be given to the same gender of the student in the succeeding year.
- In case, the total number of applicants for the technical scholarship is lesser than the total number of the available scholarship then it would be distributed among the other categories of the beneficiary students.
- It should be noted that the Diploma courses are not covered under the Technical scholarship.
- If the student is already availing benefits under any other Central/ State/ Other institutions, then he/she is not eligible for this scholarship.
This scholarship cannot be valid for the distance learning students.
