Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana also known as KVPY is a national level scholarship program held for Pre-Ph.D level candidates. The annual summit is organized and governs under the authority of IISc Bangalore University. As per the recent updates, the KVPY 2019 Application form has been released from 8th July 2019, while the last date to submit an entry is 20th August 2019. KVPY Scholarship - Eligibility Criteria 2019
Students studying in class XI (Science stream) to 1st year of any undergraduate program in Basic Sciences such as B.Sc. /B.Stat. /B.Math. /B.S. /Integrated M.Sc. /M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Biology.
Please note that students intending to pursue/pursuing the UG program under Distance Education system/correspondence course are not eligible for the KVPY Fellowship program.
Application Fee
For successful submission of an application form, candidates are required to submit the application fee as per their category which is as under;
- For General/OBC category – ₹ 1000
- For SC/ST/PWD category – ₹ 500
Candidates must note that application fee will not be refunded.
How to Apply for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2019?
- Go to the official website - http://www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in
- On the home page click on the ‘click here’ link in front of ‘KVPY Online application 2019’.
- You will be redirected to a new webpage. Read the instructions carefully.
- Scroll down and accept the ‘DISCLAIMER’ by clicking on the check-box.
- Click on the ‘Login’ button.
- Click on ‘click here for registration’ link for new registration. Read the instructions and click on the ‘Close’ button.
- The registration form will appear
- Provide the details asked for, enter the captcha characters, and tick on ‘I Agree’ checkbox. Check the details carefully before hitting the ‘Register’ button.
- You will receive a confirmation of your registration on your registered email id/mobile number along with the login details.
- Use the details to log in and complete the application form. Application form comprises filling personal details, academic details, choosing a test centre, uploading photograph and signature, and payment of application fee.
- Take a print out of completed application form.
Selection Process
- Aspirants will be called for the selection process based on their performance in the KVPY 2019 written test. The selection process will comprise interview round which will be held in the month of January to February 2020.
KVPY 2019 Examination Pattern & Syllabus
The exam will be conducted in either online or offline mode. More than this, examinees have the option of choosing the language of their papers from either Hindi or English as per their preferences. The question paper consists of 100 marks objective type questions which will be completed within 180 minutes. The exam would be split into two sections, Part I and Part II, with four sub-sections in each.
Talking about the syllabus pattern, there is no specific syllabus outlined for the exam. Candidates are requested to complete the syllabus based of class 10th, 12th, B.Sc, and other integrated programmes of B.Sc.
KVPY 2019 Admit Card
Candidates who have submitted the Online Application Form complete in all respects along with the requisite fees will be issued the KVPY 2019 Admit Card by visiting the official website. Please note that there are no other means of accessing the document other than downloading from the official website.
As per the important dates, KVPY Admit Card is expected to be issued in 2nd week of October 2019 and will carry details like Applicant’s Name, Registration Number, Date of Birth, Photograph, Exam Date, Venue and Timings, etc. Candidates need to carry the Admit Card along with a valid photo ID proof to appear for the entrance exam.
