IET India Scholarship Awards 2021 - Eligibility, Selection Procedure, Application Process, and Benefits
The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) offers the IET India Scholarship Awards to undergraduate engineering students for their innovation, creativity, leadership, and excellence. The programme aims at recognising and nurturing the future engineering leaders in the country. Students in all years of engineering are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Selected candidates can get an award of up to ₹ 5,00,000. Here are the complete details for IET India 2021 scholarship. The 2021 scholarship is the fifth edition of the award.

IET India Scholarship 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Following eligibility conditions are to be met before filling the application form:
- Students must be studying in the first, second, third, or fourth year of a full-time engineering course (any discipline) approved by AICTE/ UGC.
- Must have cleared all regular credit courses in a single attempt.
- Must have secured a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (6.5 on a scale of 10 points) in all semesters cleared.
- Must have obtained more than 60% marks or equivalent in class 12th.
Benefits under IET India Scholarship Awards 2021
Following scholarship amount will be disbursed to selected scholars:
For Regional Round
There will be at least four regional rounds and the scholarship will be as under:
Regional round winner - ₹ 50,000 and Certificate
Regional round runner-up - ₹ 25,000 and Certificate
For National Finals
Winners of regional rounds will compete for national finals. The scholarship will be:
Winner - ₹ 1,20,000 and Certificate
1st Runner-up - ₹ 80,000 and Certificate
2nd Runner-up - ₹ 60,000 and Certificate
In case a student wins a scholarship at both Regional and National levels, the Certificate will be awarded for both and the prize money for the National level only. |

IET India Scholarship 2021 - Application Process
- Visit the official website at https://india.theiet.org/.
- Scroll down and click on the IET India scholarship award 2021 link.
- Now, click the ‘Register Now’ button.
- Complete the registration form with details viz. Name, mobile number, landline number, email ID, University, college, year, state, and city.
- After the registration is complete, log in using the registration number and password.
- Proceed further to complete the application process.

IET India Scholarship 2021 Selection Process
The selection process comprises of the following stages:
- Online Application
- Online Test
- Regional Level Assessment
- National Finals
Online Application
Candidates are shortlisted after the online application submission based on eligibility, academics, extra and co-curricular activities, outreach, etc.
Online Test
After completing the online application process, shortlisted candidates are required to appear for an online test. The test will assess candidates on the following subjects:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Computer Science
- Electronics
- Electrical and
- Mechanical
A total of 50 multiple choice questions will be asked in the online test.
Regional Level Assessment
Those shortlisted through the online test are required to take part in the regional level assessment. Here, candidates are required to give a presentation on a topic given by the Jury members.
“The topic will have current relevance and is focused on solving a current societal challenge in that region. The topic will be communicated to the contestants at least 10 days in advance to enable the student to prepare,” as per the official website.
The regional assessment will be conducted in 4 regions:
- Regional North
- Regional South
- Regional West
- Regional East + North East
The mode of assessment (online or offline) will be decided 30 days before the scheduled date of presentation due to the ongoing pandemic situation.
National Finals
Those shortlisted through the regional level are required to participate in the national finals. The finals will be tentatively held in October 2021. Candidates are required to make a presentation on their vision and solution for an engineering problem relevant to society. The National Finals may also include a Group Discussion.
