HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship 2022 - Application, Eligibility, Dates, Benefits
With its new initiative, Badhte Kadam Scholarship, HDFC Ltd strives to support students from class 9 to Undergraduate degree courses in completing their education. The scholarship programme will provide financial aid to students, especially the ones whose families got affected due to the pandemic and compelled them to discontinue their education.
The programme will also provide additional support of career counselling, mentorship, mental health and wellness counselling to selected candidates. The scholars will be able to use the fund to meet various academic expenses like hostel fees, tuition fees, online learning devices, data recharges, stationery, books, and more.

About HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship
In the line with its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, HDFC’s Badhte Kadam Scholarship scheme aims to meet the following objectives:
- Sustaining the education of students who are unable to meet their various academic expenses.
- Special preference will be given to students whose families have been severely impacted due to the pandemic.
- Career, Health, and Wellness Counselling, as well as a Mentorship program, will be conducted for the selected student.
- The program is for students from Class 9 to 12, professional undergraduate and general undergraduate degree courses.
- The scholarship amount varies from INR 15,000 to 1,00,000 depending on the student’s class/course.

HDFC’s Badhte Kadam Scholarship for Class 1 to 12 Students 2021-22
- A candidate must be studying in Class 9 to 12 in any recognized school throughout India.
- The annual family incoming of the candidate must be more than INR 6,00,000 from all sources.
- Special preference for students:
- Who lost their parent(s) or earning family member(s) during or before the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Whose families lost their job due to the pandemic.
- Physically disabled.
- Impacted by any natural disaster.
- Has a patient (Mother/Father/Sibling) in the family with a critical illness.
- Children of employees of HDFC Ltd. And Buddy4Study are not eligible.
- Available for only Indian nationals.
HDFC’s Badhte Kadam Scholarship for Professional Undergraduate Courses 2021-22
- The candidate must be pursuing a professional undergraduate degree course (MBBS, B.Tech, B.Arch, LLB, Nursing, etc.) from a state/UGC-recognized institution throughout India.
- The annual family incoming of the candidate must be more than INR 6,00,000 from all sources.
- Special preference for students:
- Who lost their parent(s) or earning family member(s) during or before the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Whose families lost their job due to the pandemic.
- Physically disabled.
- Impacted by any natural disaster.
- Has a patient (Mother/Father/Sibling) in the family with a critical illness.

- Candidates must be studying in a general undergraduate degree course (BCA, B.Com, B.Sc, or BA, etc) from state/UGC-recognized institutions throughout India.
- The annual family incoming of the candidate must be more than INR 6,00,000 from all sources.
- Special preference for students:
- Who lost their parent(s) or earning family member(s) during or before the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Whose families lost their job due to the pandemic.
- Physically disabled.
- Impacted by any natural disaster.
- Has a patient (Mother/Father/Sibling) in the family with a critical illness.
- Children of employees of HDFC Ltd. And Buddy4Study are not eligible.

HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship Documents Requirement
- Applicant’s mark sheet of the previous educational degree.
- Photograph of the applicant.
- Bank account details of the applicant (or parent).
- A government-issued proof of identity (Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Pan Card, Voter Identity Card).
- Current year proof of admission (Bonafide Certificate | Admission Letter | Institution Identity Card | Fee Receipt).
- Proof of job loss or crisis document (Death certificate of the parent).
- Reference from 2 persons who know the family’s crisis. He/she can be a doctor, school teacher, head of school/college, or a govt. officer.
HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship Benefits/ Awards
The amount provided under HDFC Ltd’s Badhte Kadam Scholarship program ranges from INR 15,000 to INR 1,00,000. The benefits will be rewarded as follows:
- For Students Studying in Classes 9st to 12th: INR 15,000 (rural) | INR 20,000 (Urban)
- For Professional Undergraduate Students: INR 1,00,000
- For General Undergraduate Students: INR 40,000

- On your computer or mobile browser, go to HDFC Ltd’s Badhte Kadam Scholarship page.
- Tap on the Apply Now button.
- Log into your Buddy4Study account with your User ID and Password. If you haven’t registered for the Buddy4Study account yet, you can sign up with your Email | Phone Number | Gmail Account.
- Once logged in, click on the START APPLICATION option. A small window will appear on your screen.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to fill up the form.
- Upload the required documents when prompted.
- Agree to the Terms and Conditions and tap the Preview option.
- Review the application form and press the Submit option to complete the application process.
HDFC Badhte Kadam Scholarship - Selection Process
The selection of a candidate for HDFC’s Badhte Kadam Scholarship program 2022 is a multi-level process. The students are selected on the basis of their needs. A special focus is given to students impacted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All the candidates are reviewed and selected as per rolling basis. Details of the selection process are as follows:
- Candidate’s shortlisting on the basis of proof of crisis and other eligibility criteria.
- Telephonic conversation with the shortlisted candidate.
- Verification of documents.
- Final selection by the scholarship provider.

The scholarship fund will be transferred directly to the bank account of scholars/parents/guardians.
