West Bengal Minority Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) offers Aikyashree scholarship programme for providing financial support to meritorious students of the state at both school and college level. The scholarship is provided by the Government of West Bengal and its subsidiary boards to help candidates continue their higher studies. The scholarship programme was started for minority students such as Christians, Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis in West Bengal to provide them with more educational opportunities. The Aikyashree scheme covers entire educational expenses including hostel fees. Students from classes 1st to Ph.D level are eligible to apply. Purpose of Aikyashree Scholarship
The purpose of the Aikyashree Scholarship is as follows:
- Provide education loans for meritorious students from financially weaker sections of society to help them continue their studies.
- To undertake programmes for empowering women from minority groups.
- Training students for competitive exams.
- Promote training programmes to upgrade skills.
- Make students financially independent through education.
- Improve literacy ratio in West Bengal.

Aikyashree Scholarship Benefits
WB Pre Matric Scholarship
Provided by: Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal
- Students can avail scholarship amounts ranging from ₹ 150 to ₹ 750 per month.
- In addition to the scholarship amount, students will also get an Ad hoc reward of up to ₹ 1,000 per year.
WB Post Matric Scholarship
Provided by: Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal
- Students will get a scholarship amount of ₹ 160 to ₹ 1200 per month.
Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal
Provided by: Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata
- Selected students will get ₹ 3,000 per month.
- Students will also get a yearly book grant of ₹ 2000 in addition to the scholarship amount.
Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship (SVMCM)
Provided by: Government of West Bengal
- Financial support of up to ₹ 8,000 per month will be given based on the level of course.
Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal
Provided by: Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal

Aikyashree Scholarship Application Process
Candidates are advised to check the eligibility conditions carefully before applying for the scholarship. Here are the steps to be followed for submitting the applications.
Documents Required for Application Submission
Keep the following documents ready before applying for the scholarship:
- Applicant’s passport size photograph
- Fee receipt of the current year
- Self-attested certificate of previous year’s mark sheet
- Income certificate
- Self-certified community certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Bank account details
Steps for Aikyashree Application Submission
- Visit the official website at wbmdfcscholarship.org.
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ option.
- Select the district of your institute.
- Enter details such as name, guardian’s name, DoB, mobile number, email ID, bank account number, etc. Click ‘Submit and Proceed’.
- Now provide details such as current institution, its location, class, course name, last exam passed, board name, year of passing, percentage marks obtained, annual family income, and email ID.
- Check the details carefully and click the ‘Submit and Proceed’ button.
- After submitting the information, a temporary user id will be generated.
- Check your registered email ID for the password.
- Now, log in using your user ID and password.
- Enter basic information, academic information, and bank account information.
- Verify all details by clicking on the ‘Preview’ tab.
- Click the ‘Final Submit’ tab.
- After checking all the information in the application form, click on the ‘Print Application’ button.
- Submit the hard copy of the application form along with the photocopy of your bank passbook at the concerned institute.
Aikyashree Scholarship - Selection Process
The scholarships will be provided under two categories:
New Scholarship - Scholarship will be offered based on the eligibility and merit of the student, provided the budget available.
Renewal Scholarship - Only those students who have secured 50% marks in the previous exam will be considered for scholarship renewal.

Question 1: How can I apply for Scholarship renewal?
You can apply for application renewal by visiting the official website and accessing the application renewal option.
Question 2: Can I withdraw my application?
Yes. Withdrawal of application can be done through the ‘Application Renewal’ option.
Question 3: I forgot my User ID for Aikyashree Scholarship login. How can I get a new user ID?
You will not get a new user Id. But, you can retrieve the old one using the ‘Forgot User ID’ option in the student login window.
Question 4: I forgot the password for my Aikyashree Scholarship login. Please provide the steps to access my portal.
You can retrieve the password through the ‘Forgot Password’ option under the student’s login window on the official website. The password will be sent to your registered mobile number.
Question 5: Can students from other states apply for the Aikyashree Scholarship?
No. Other states’ students can only apply for the ‘Hindi Scholarship Scheme’ only if they are currently residing in West Bengal.
