JEE Main 2021 – Govt Considering to Conduct Engineering Exam Four Times In a Year
Education Minister during an online interaction says JEE Main will now be conducted four times in a year starting February 2021.
10th December 2020 – During the online interaction with students, parents, and teachers, the Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank shared that the government is considering to conduct JEE Main 2021 4-times in a year. The details have been shared when the education minister take his LIVE webinar addressed the queries of students about the upcoming Board Exams and the competitive Entrance Exams like JEE Main 2021 and NEET 2021.
Conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) four times in a year for admission to engineering will give flexibility to the students. As per them, the computer-based engineering test will be performed every month from February to May 2021 and candidates have an opportunity to appear in any or all of the exams.
Reasons to Hold JEE Main 2021 Four Times in A Year
- The need to hold JEE Main 2021 multiple times in a year was felt after engineering aspirants raised the issue of clash of the engineering entrance exam with the other competitive exams including the practical exams of the Boards.
- Another important reason is the COVID-19 situation because of which the exams have to be held very carefully while ensuring complete adherence to social distancing guidelines and other precautionary norms.
- With the decision, candidates get the flexibility to score well in the exam.
- Only the best scores will be considered.
JEE Main 2021 – Other Important Highlights
In the webinar, other important parts of JEE Main were discussed by the minister such as the examination schedule of the JEE Main 2021 entrance exam and the possibility of syllabus reduction.
Dates for JEE Main 2021 - The Union minister has also specified that the department may push back JEE Main 2021 examinations if necessary however postponement of the examination has not been mentioned.
Syllabus reduction for the exam - While interacting with the teachers, parents, and students the minister addressed questions related to the reduction of the syllabus for JEE Main 2021. The minister said that the department is conducting discussions related to the same and is trying to figure the number of questions to be framed, the ways to frame the questions with respect to the reduction in the syllabus. Students will not to worry more, as they will be informed about all the latest updates regarding the exam.
Earlier, this year, due to the situation of COVID-19, NTA conducts the engineering exam in the month of September 2020.
