ICAI CPT 2019 Exam – Registration Process, Exam Schedule, and Application Fee
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has started the online registration process for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) from 4th April 2019 on the official website – icaiexam.icai.org. The online registration/application process will continue till 24th April 2019. CPT is the entrance exam for those interested in the profession of Chartered Accountancy. As per the official announcement;
“The aforesaid Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to students registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the Common Proficiency Course and fulfil the requisite eligibility conditions.”

ICAI CPT 2019 Exam Schedule
The ICAI CPT 2019 exam will be held on 16th June 2019 (Sunday) in two shifts:

Candidates are required to appear in both the sessions. Those who appear in only one session will not be considered for selection. The result of such candidates will not be prepared and published.
ICAI CPT 2018 Exam Pattern
The exam will comprise of 200 Objective Type Questions from subjects Fundamentals of Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics, and Quantitative Aptitude. Candidates can opt from English and Hindi languages for answering the question paper.
Qualifying Marks
In order to qualify the exam, candidates are required to secure at least 30% marks in each section and at least 50% aggregate marks in all sections.
Negative Marking
There is a provision of negative marking in the exam. 1/4th of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for incorrect answer.
ICAI CPT 2018 Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay the following application fee as per the examination centre they choose:
- For examination centres in India – ₹ 1000/-
- For examination centres in Kathmandu, Nepal – ₹ 1700/-
- For examination centres in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha & Muscat - $300
Candidates can also apply after 24th April by paying a late fee (in addition to the application fee) till 2nd May 2019. Here are the details about the late fee:
- For Indian and Kathmandu centres – ₹ 600/-
- For Foreign centres - $10
The application fee can be paid online through VISA or MASTER Credit/Debit/Rupay card or Net Banking. Candidates have to bear the bank charges/transaction charges themselves.
Please note that the application fee for ICAI CPT 2019 exam is non-adjustable and non-refundable.
