AIIMS MBBS 2019 Exam - Registration Date Extended, Open Counselling Rescheduled

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has rescheduled the open counselling process for its MBBS course. The open round counselling is conducted for filling up the vacant seats after the third round of counselling. The hospital authorities made the announcement a day after a massive fire broke in the hospital premises. As per the official notice;

“Considering the large number of candidates and guardians participating in the open round of counselling for MBBS 2019 under the prevailing circumstances, it has been decided by the competent authority that for adequate arrangement and ensuring safety, the open round of counselling has been rescheduled from August 20 and 21 to August 26 and 27.”

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare tweeted; “The open round of counselling for AIIMS-MBBS-2019 @aiims_newdelhi has been rescheduled from 20-21 August 2019 to 26-27 August 2019.”

According to a source; the fire had started around 5 PM on 17th August from the Microbiology department. It triggered panic and affected the emergency services. As a precautionary measure, all the patients were evacuated. The fire engulfed several offices in the department of urology, surgery, microbiology, dermatology, and ortho. A lot of research data, manuscripts, and samples were destroyed. There is no loss or damage to life in the incident.

20th and 21st August 2019

New Counselling Schedule:

26th and 27th August 2019

The online registration process has re-opened on 18th August and will continue till 21st August 2019 (5:00 PM). Earlier, the last date for open round registration was 16th August 2019. Candidates must note that if the seats get filled on the first day of the counselling, there will be no counselling on the second day.

AIIMS MBBS 2019 Open Round Counselling - Important Dates

Documents Required for Open Round Counselling -

Candidates need to carry the following documents to the counselling round:

• Print of the registration slip
• Admit Card of AIIMS MBBS 2019 exam
• Caste Certificate
• Date of Birth Certificate
• Class 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates (original and self-attested photocopies)

AIIMS MBBS 2019 exam was conducted on 25th and 26th May 2019. And, the result for the exam was declared on 12th June 2019. The exam is conducted for admission into MBBS programme offered by the institute at its various campuses. Nearly 2,00,000 aspirants appeared for the AIIMS MBBS 2019 exam for a total of 1,207 seats.
