NATA 2022: Result (Out), Application Form, Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern & Admission
The National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a national-level exam conducted by the Council of Architecture for admission to the 5 years B. Arch Degree Programme. CoA has been organizing the NATA exam since 2006, keeping the Minimum Standards of Architectural Education Regulations, 1983, of the Gazette of India. Students appearing in NATA 2022 need not attempt different aptitude tests to get into private and government-aided institutes or universities to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture.
NATA 2022 Latest Notification -
- The result for the third session was declared on 16th August 2022.
- The first session exam will be held on 12th June 2022 and the second session exam will be held on 07th July 2022 and the third session on 07th August 2022.
Highlighted Changes in NATA Exam
In the year 2020, the following changes were introduced in the NATA exam:
- CoA will conduct national-level counselling for admission to various architecture programs.
- Students of Arts Stream (Humanities) can apply for the exam. However, they must have qualified additional exams (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 50% marks) by CBSE.
- From the year 2021, a variety of questions have been added in the exam pattern viz. Multiple choice questions, multiple select questions, preferential choice questions, and numerical answer types.
- The number of questions will be 125 and the total marks will be 200. A combination of marking schemes has been adopted with questions of 1, 2, and 3 marks.

NATA Exam 2022 Pattern & Syllabus
Candidates appearing in the upcoming exam must be well-versed in NATA exam pattern 2022. The exam will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Type (MSQ), Preferential Choice Type (PCQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAQ). The medium of the NATA 2022 exam is English.

NATA Exam 2022 Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for appearing in the NATA exam:
- Should have passed 12th with 50% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
- Should have scored 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level exam
- Candidates appearing in the 12th exam with PCM subjects can also provisionally give the test
New Changes Made:
- Students with a 10+3 diploma in Mathematics can apply for the first-year B.Arch course for the 2022 session.
- The relaxation in the B.Arch Admission eligibility criteria has been made as a one-time exception to the rule, taking into account the special circumstances that have emerged in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per the official Information Bulletin, “QUALIFYING IN NATA-2022 DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A RIGHT/ GUARANTEE IN FAVOUR OF THE CANDIDATE FOR HIS/ HER ADMISSION TO ANY ARCHITECTURE COURSE UNLESS HE/ SHE HAS FULFILLED ALL THE PRESCRIBED REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED BY RESPECTIVE COUNSELLING AND ADMISSION AUTHORITIES.” It further adds, “Candidates may note that no direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/ stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification.”
NATA Exam 2022 Application Process
The application process for the NATA 2022 will start in March 2022 for all sessions. Candidates can fill out and submit the online application form at the official website. Candidates who have applied for the NATA exam have an opportunity to register themselves for the first and second test. However, “appearing in the second test is not mandatory and is purely at the discretion of the applicants.” If the candidates appear in both the tests, they must note that the Authority will issue the scorecard, ‘containing the best of two test’s composite marks.’
Application Procedure of NATA 2022 –
The NATA application 2022 will be filled in online mode at the website – www.nata.in. Applicants need to select the link ‘Online Application NATA-2022’ and get directed to the application form filling the page. All fields marked with * ‘must be filled up as they are mandatory, otherwise, the application will not get submitted.’ The entire application procedure of NATA 2022 is divided into three steps –
- Filling of Personal Details
- Document Uploading (Photograph Size – 4 kb to 100 kb and signature size – 1 kb to 30 kb)
- Fee Payment
After the submission of the application form, the candidates must take a print of the Confirmation Page. This is the proof of Registration.

NATA 2022 Application Correction Window
CoA will activate the correction facility for NATA 2022 potential candidates. Those who want to make some changes in their application form can participate in the NATA 2022 correction process through the following steps:
- Open the official link of NATA at nata.in.
- On the available home page, click on the link, which says “NATA 2022 Correction”.
- Click on the link and complete the login procedure.
- Once it is done, make the changes in the application form and click on submit.
- Keep a hard copy of the same for further references.
NATA Exam 2022 Other Details

NATA 2022 Admit Card –
Candidates who have successfully submitted the application form will be entitled to receive the NATA 2022 admit card. They have to download the soft copy of the hall tickets of NATA 2022 from the official website and appear in the test with a printed hard copy of the same at the concerned exam center. Also, carry one original photo ID card – driving license/ Aadhaar card, pan card, voter ID, etc.
To make the process of downloading the NATA entrance exam admit cards easier for the candidates, steps are listed here:
- Step 1: Visit the official NATA 2022 website i.e. nata.in
- Step 2: Find and click on the “Admit Card” link.
- Step 3: Enter the Application number and password.
- Step 4: Click on the “Submit” button.
- Step 5: NATA admit card 2022 will be displayed on the screen.
- Step 6: Download the admit card and take a printout.
The NATA 2022 admit cards will carry all the necessary details including the candidate’s name, roll number, allotted exam center address, parents’ details, exam details, etc.
NATA Answer Key 2022 –
NATA answer key is a medium, which helps students to analyze their answers and predict their overall scores in the exam. The NATA 2022 answer key for both tests will be released separately. To pass the NATA exam 2022, candidates should score at least 25% marks in Drawing and 25% marks in MCQ.
NATA 2022 Result –
Candidates will be intimated about NATA 2022 results through various electronic/ printing media. The result will comprise marks obtained by the candidates in each section and the qualifying status.
