All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) MBBS Exam
It is one of the highly competitive and popular entrance exams to get admission into MBBS course. The exam is organized to fill the medical seats in AIIMS New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh. It is a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 3 hours and 30 minutes duration. The exam is conducted in the month of May, while the registration process begins from the month of February. The score of AIIMS MBBS exam remains valid for 1 year.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Nursing Exam
It is a national-level exam conducted for aspirants who want to make a career in nursing field. AIIMS conducts separate entrance exams for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing courses. Qualifying the entrance exams allows admission into B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.), B.Sc. Nursing Post Basic and M.Sc. Nursing programmes in different AIIMS. The entrance exams take place in the month of June followed by a counselling process, which is conducted strictly on the merit basis.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)
This is the newest, yet controversial exam. Since its initiation, there have been a lot of speculations and “for and against” wars taken place. It was introduced with an aim to have a single common entrance test for medical admissions. It has replaced AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) and other state-level medical entrance exams. It is highly competitive and students look forward to it as their gateway to grab a medical seat. The exam is conducted in the month of May. The question paper includes 180 questions divided as – 90 questions from Biology and 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) MBBS Exam
Conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, JIPMER MBBS is an undergraduate level entrance exam. Qualified can get medical seats in JIPMER, Puducherry or Karaikal campus. It is a Computer Based Test (CBT) with total 200 questions divided as 60 questions from Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics each and 10 questions from English Comprehension and Logic & Quantitative Reasoning each. Candidates must attempt the questions in 2 hours 30 minutes duration.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) Exam
Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh conducts a University level exam named PGIMER. It is conducted twice a year for January and July sessions to offer admission into PG courses such as MD, MS, etc. Candidates are required to hold an MBBS or equivalent degree from any institute recognised by the Medical Council of India. 200 multiple choice questions are asked in the question paper which have to be attempted in the duration of 3 hours. The exam is held in offline mode with no provision for negative marking.
National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) Entrance Exam
NIMHANS is an objective type entrance exam conducted for admission to PG courses like DM Neurology/M.Ch. Neurosurgery and MD Psychiatry. NIMHANS, Bangalore conducts the common entrance exam for all postgraduate courses and publishes separate merit list for each course. The exam is conducted two times a year for January and July sessions. It is an online exam of 2 hours duration testing candidates on the basis of 150 questions with a provision of negative marking.
Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University Common Entrance Test (BVP CET) MBBS Exam
It is an undergraduate level common entrance test organized for admission to medical institutions affiliated to Bharati Vidyapeeth University. The exam offers admission into MBBS and BDS courses. 3 hours duration examination with 200 multiple choice questions is conducted in the month of May every year. English is the language of question paper and provision of negative marking is not followed for evaluation. The registration process for the exam begins in the month of January.

All India Common Entrance Exam (AICEE)
The Veterinary Council of India conducts the AICEE for admission into Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry course. The entrance exam is conducted for filling up 15% of the total seats in each veterinary college of all States. The three and a half hour duration exam includes multiple choice questions from Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English syllabus of class XII. The exam is organized in the month of May while the registration process ends in February/March.

All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE)
National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts AIPGMEE every year for admission into MS and MD courses offered by various government and private colleges. The online exam includes 300 objective type questions from subjects studied at MBBS level. The question paper will be in English language with no negative marking. Qualified candidates are called for counselling process which is organized strictly on the basis of merit.

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) PGET Exam
COMEDK PGET entrance exam is conducted every year for admission into MD, MS and MDS seats in participating colleges (medical and dental) of Karnataka. Candidates with MBBS or BDS degree from a recognised institute are eligible for the exam. It is a Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting 180 objective type questions to be completed in 3 hours. The negative marking system is not followed in COMEDK PGET. It is a state level medical admission test but is open for all Indian candidates.
