The JKCET (Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test) is a state-level examination.  It is conducted by the Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (JKBOPEE) every year to provide admission to students for various undergraduate engineering courses in Jammu & Kashmir state. JKCET Exam 2023 Pattern & Syllabus

Before candidates appear for the JKCET exam, it is important for candidates to know the exam pattern. Doing this will make them confident enough to take the exam. The exam pattern is tabulated below:

Note: The mode of the exam will be offline. There will be multiple-choice questions. 1 mark will be awarded for every right answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. So, candidates are advised not to try their guesses. The exam will be held at different centers located in the cities of Jammu and Srinagar.

JKCET Exam Syllabus 2023

There are three subjects - Physics, Chemistry and mathematics which are covered under the JKCET.  The syllabus for each of these subjects is explained below:

Physics: Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body, Gravitation, Properties of Bulk Matter, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas and Kinetic Theory, Oscillations and Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiation, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices and Communication System.

Chemistry: Chemical Arithmetic & Atomic Structure, Chemical Equilibrium, Chemical Kinetics, Solutions, Chemical Thermodynamics, Redox Reactions and Electrochemistry, Solid State & States of Matter, Surface Chemistry, Periodic Properties, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure, Chemistry of Representative Elements, Transition Elements including Lanthanides, Co-ordination Chemistry, Nomenclature and Basic Concepts in Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Organic Chemistry based on Functional Group – I, Organic Chemistry based on Functional Group – II, Organic Chemistry based on Functional Group – III, Molecules of Life and Polymers.

Mathematics: Sets, Relations and Functions; Complex Number, Linear In the equation, Linear Programming; Sequence and Series, Permutation and Combination & Binomial Theorem; Trigonometric and Inverse Trigonometry Functions; Matrices and Determinants; Continuity and Differentiation; Integration and Differential Equations; Straight Lines and Conic Sections; Statistics and Probability and Vectors and Three Dimensional Geometry.

JKCET Exam 2023 Eligibility

Prior to appearing for the JKCET 2023 exam, candidates need to ensure whether or not they are eligible for this exam with regard to their nationality, age and educational qualification.

Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India and permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir state.

Age

The minimum age limit for this exam is 17. There is no maximum age limit.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should be 12th pass in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with at least 50% marks from any recognized board. There is a relaxation in marks for the reserved categories of candidates, such as SC/ST, OBC, etc. They need to have at least 40% marks.

JKCET Exam 2023 Application Process

The JKCET 2023 application process will start from 4th April 2023. Candidates must submit the completed application forms within the given time. Here is the process for filling out the application form.

JKCET Application Form: How to Apply?

The JKCET application process is lengthy and candidates need to be very careful while filling in the form. The steps that they need to follow include the following:

  • Go to the official website - https://www.jkbopee.gov.in/
  • Click on the ‘Apply Online for Common Entrance Test 2023’ link
  • Click on the ‘Click here to fill Application’ link
  • Click on the ‘Apply’ button
  • Fill in your name, date of birth, education, etc.
  • Note down your application number
  • Upload your recent photograph, signature, scanned copies of educational certificates and left-hand thumb impression in a given format
  • Click on ‘Click here to make payment’
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • Finally, take a printout of your application for further use

JKCET Application Fee & Mode of Payment

All categories of candidates need to pay ₹ 1200/-only. They can pay this amount through online mode—debit card/ credit card/net banking.

JKCET Exam 2023 Other Details

How to Download JKCET 2023 Admit Card -

The admit card will be available to candidates through online mode. They will be able to download it by considering the following steps:

  • Go to the official website - https://www.jkbopee.gov.in/
  • Click on the link ‘Admit Card’
  • Enter your application number and date of birth
  • The admit card will appear on the screen
  • Check whether all the information entered in your admit card is correct or not
  • On finding any discrepancy, bring it to the notice of the concerned authorities
  • If there are no discrepancies, download the admit card and take a printout of it.

JKCET Exam Result 2023

The JKCET 2023 result will be declared tentatively in July 2023 on the official website. The result will be made available in PDF format. Apart from this, the result will be available in the offices of the BOPEE (Board of Professional Entrance Examination), located in Srinagar and Jammu.

JKCET Counselling 2023

Candidates, who clear the written exam, will be called for the counselling session. The counselling process will be conducted in both offline and online modes. The schedule for the counselling process will be released later. During counselling, they will get an opportunity to select a college and course of their choice that depends on their merit in the written exam. They need to bring the documents, such as permanent residence certificate, marks certificate, matriculation or equivalent examination certificate for date of birth proof, Challan copy and Category certificate for verification.

JKCET Counselling Centers

The counselling will be conducted at the following centers:

  • Jammu
  • Srinagar

Read the counselling letter carefully and carry all the documents required for the verification process.

JKCET Exam Frequently Asked Questions

The exam will be held on 28th May 2023.

The counselling process will begin in July/August 2023.

The minimum age limit is 17, but there is no maximum age limit.

Candidate should be 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 50% marks from any recognized board. Reserved category candidates should have scored at least 40% marks.

The selection of candidates depends on the marks scored by them in the written exam. A merit list will be prepared and they will be selected accordingly.
