All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi, every year administers the postgraduate exam for admission to MS, MD, MDS, M.Ch. and DM courses. These courses are of 6 years duration, and admissions are based on the entrance examination. The exam is conducted twice a year – the first session is in January, and the second occurs in July. About INI CET
INI CET, short for the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test, is a national-level examination conducted by AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), Delhi. The examination will now be conducted by replacing PGIMER, JIPMER PG, NIMHANS Entrance Test, and AIIMS PG. It is a Computer-based exam/ online exam with test centers in 64 different cities all over the country. Through this exam, candidates get admission to MD, MS, DM, MDS, and MCH courses in 10 different medical colleges.

The INI-CET 2023 exam will be conducted in computer-based mode or online. The question paper language is English, and the exam will be of 180 minutes. All the questions will be objective types. INI CET Exam Syllabus
The INI CET syllabus 2023 is based on the MBBS curriculum for MD/ MS courses. Candidates applying for the MDS course can study the BDS-level syllabus.
INI CET Exam 2023 Eligibility
AIIMS, New Delhi, will conduct the INI CET exam for 6 years and 3 years of PG courses. Candidates applying for different courses must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Institute. Go through the following eligibility requirements before applying for the test.
MD/ MS/ M.Ch. / DM (6 Years) –
- Educational Qualification: The students must hold an MBBS degree for Master of Surgery and Doctor of Medicine and a BDS degree for MDS with 55% marks in aggregate for the general category students (50% marks for the reserved category candidates) from a university or college recognized by the Dental Council of India and Medical Council of India.
- Internship: Should have completed a 1-year rotatory internship before 30th January 2023.
DM/ M.Ch. / Fellowship/ MD (Hospital Administrator) (3 Years) –
- Educational Qualification: A degree in MD/ MS from a university recognized by MCI.
- Upper Age Limit: The applicants should not be over 35 years old. The OBC category candidates will enjoy 3 years upper age limit (5 years for SC/ST category).
INI CET Exam 2023 Application Process
If eligible, visit the official website of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and complete the registration process. The Institute conducts the application process online for all the candidates, irrespective of their categories. The registration for the exam is done in 2 parts – Basic and Final. Once the basic registration is done, the Institute begins the final registration.
Steps to Complete INI CET Registration 2023 –
- Visit the official website - https://www.aiimsexams.org
- Click on the ‘Registration Process’ process
- Provide details such as the name of the candidate, nationality, category, etc., for the basic registration
- Select the Registration button to receive the registration ID and password
- Use the credentials to log in
- Check the details. If correct, proceed to the next stage. If found incorrect, make changes right there and proceed further.
- Upload the digital images of the photograph, signature, and left thumb impression in the prescribed format
- Select ‘Declaration’ and hit the ‘Submit’ button
- Now, the applicants need to provide their qualifications (MBBS, medical registration details, Internship, etc.) and address details
- Pay the fee
- Choose the exam center and submit
- Take a printout of the application form

Application Fee Payment Details –
The exam fee amount can only be paid online via credit card, debit card, and net banking. After the payment, candidates are advised to get a printout of the receipt that carries the URN (Unique Registration Number). Please keep it safe for future reference.

INI CET Exam 2023 Other Details
INI CET Admit Card 2023 –
AIIMS, New Delhi, will issue the INI CET July admit card 2023 for the 6 years of courses online. The INI CET July hall tickets 2023 can be obtained online at the authorized website. Check for all the details, including the name of the candidate, exam date and timing, DOB, photograph, thumb impress, signature, roll number, etc. In case of any disagreement, contact the officials immediately.
Note: Carry the admit card and one photo ID while turning up at the exam center.

INI CET Cut-off 2023 –
Along with the results, AIIMS, New Delhi, will also issue the cut-off marks for the exam. It is the qualifying mark that the test-takers need to score to be eligible for counselling. The minimum qualifying score should be 50%.

AIIMS PG Counselling 2023 –
The INI CET counselling 2023 will begin after the completion of the stage 2 exam. The qualified students will be required to participate in the process, and the Authority will select the applicants based on their scores and choice. Documents that need to be produced are mark sheets of MBBS/ BDS, admit card, rank card, counselling call letter, DOB proof, medical registration certificate, internship certificate, etc.
How to Apply?
- Go to the official website of AIIMS – aiimsexams.org.
- Click on the “AIIMS PG Counselling 2023” link flashing on the homepage.
- Enter your login details, the same as you have entered, to check your result.
- Once logged in, start filling in your choices for the Mock round.
- Submit your counselling form.
INI CET Exam Frequently Asked Questions
