Indian Army B.Sc Nursing Exam 2023: Notification, Eligibility, Syllabus, Admit Card & Pattern
To get admission to 4 years B.Sc (Nursing) course at Colleges of Nursing of Armed Forces Medical Services, a candidate (only female candidates) needs to clear the Indian Army BSc Nursing entrance examination. Well, that’s not all. Admission to Colleges of Nursing is also based on the vacancy in each college, merit cum choice, and subject to medical fitness. Only after successfully completing training (four years) will candidates be appointed to the “Military Nursing Service, under the Terms and Conditions laid down for grant of Short Service Commission.” The Directorate General of Medical Services (DGMS) will tentatively release the application forms for the examination in March 2023. As per the official notification, “During training, they will be provided with free ration, accommodation, uniform allowance and a monthly stipend as per existing Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time.”
Note: At any point of time during the training, if anyone withdraws from the course or refuses to accept Commission in the Military Nursing Service (MNS) in the case offered or termination of training, she has to “refund the Bond money as per the bond executed in the event of withdrawal from the Course.”

Indian Army B.Sc. Nursing 2023 Eligibility
Who can apply? Female candidates who are legally separated/ divorced/ unmarried/widowed without encumbrances are eligible to apply. However, before submitting the application form, applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions.
Nationality -
- They must be Indian nationals.
Educational Qualification -
- She should have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination (12 years of schooling) on the first attempt
- She should have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks as a regular student from a recognized board, university, or examination body.
- Must have opted for Physics, Biology (Botany & Zoology), Chemistry, and English subjects in class 12th examination.
- Those who are appearing in the final examination may also apply provisionally (if selected for the course, they will have to submit proof of passing the qualifying examination with the required marks and subjects.)
Age Limit -
- The candidates should have been born between 01 October 1998 and 30 September 2006 (both days inclusive).
Physical Standards -
- The minimum height of the female candidates should not be less than 152 cm.
- For Gorkhas and candidates belonging to the North-Eastern region of India, Garhwal, and Kumaon, the minimum height is 148 cm.
- The candidates must go through an X-Ray examination of the Chest and USG (of the pelvis and abdomen).

Indian Army BSc Nursing 2023 Selection Process
- The Directorate General of Medical Services (Army) has a strict selection process to select the right candidates for the course.
- Eligible applicants must appear in the Written Test (CBT- objective-type). The test is of 90 minutes and covers topics from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Intelligence, and General English.
- The conducting authority will then organize an Interview for the written test-qualified candidates.
- Based on the outcome of the Interview and Written Test, the final selection will be carried out, which is further subject to medical fitness tests and vacancies in the army nursing colleges.

Steps of Filling Application for Indian Army BSc Nursing 2023 –
- Visit the Indian Army's official website
- Click on the ‘Officers entry apply/ login’ tab to register and apply
- For a new registration, candidates can click on ‘Registration’
- Select the ‘Continue’ tab and complete the registration process by filling in the mandatory fields (Aadhaar/ enrolment no, candidate name, father/ guardian name, mother’s name, date of birth, and mobile no) and ‘Submit’
- Now, provide the OTP received on your registered email ID and select the ‘Submit’ tab to continue
- The next step is to fill in the remaining mandatory fields and set the password
- Now, click on the ‘Save’ button to continue
- Proceed with ‘Communication Details’ and hit the ‘Update’ button

- The registration process is done now. Candidates have to click on the ‘OK’ button as a pop-up message ‘Record saved successfully’ appears
- Click on ‘Apply Online’ on the dashboard to fill out the online application form
- Here, candidates have to complete the remaining mandatory fields, upload their signature, and photo (keeping the specifications as prescribed)

- Fill in communication details and proceed further
- Fill in education details and proceed further
- Take a look at all the details, click on the ‘Edit’ button if required, and ‘Submit Now’.
- The next thing that applicants have to do is to release the payment through the link given on the payment screen. “Candidates are requested to make payment only after activation of the link, which will take between 24-48 hours after registration”
- After successful payment, enter the ‘DU reference number’ (provided by the bank after successful payment), select the written test center, and click on ‘Submit’ to complete the application process
