Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) conducts the IIFT entrance exam for admission to its flagship program, MBA (International Business). It is a six-trimester general management program that focuses on providing trained business executives in the field of International Business Management. IIFT Exam 2023 Pattern & Syllabus
Exam Pattern
The entrance exam will be a computer-based test of 120 minutes where Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked from the following sections:
- Quantitative Analysis
- Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
- General Awareness
The question paper will be in the English language.

The authorities prescribe no official syllabus. However, candidates must prepare for the exam based on the mock test, previous years’ question papers, and preparation books
IIFT Exam 2023 Eligibility
Candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum three years duration) from a recognized institute with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PWD categories).
- Those appearing in the final exam of the qualifying degree are also eligible, provided they submit proof of passing the exam by 7th October 2022.
Age Limit
- There is no age limit for the entrance exam.
IIFT Exam 2023 Application Process
Application forms for the exam will be submitted online mode. Candidates can fill out the application via NTA’s website https://iift.nta.nic.in/. Candidates are required to submit only a single application. Multiple applications will be rejected. Here is the detailed application process.
Specifications for Scanned Images
Candidates are required to upload the scanned images of photographs, signatures, and certificates as per the specifications mentioned below:
- Scanned image of a recent photograph of the candidate in JPG/ JPEG format in size between 10 KB and 200 KB.
- Scanned image of signature in JPG/ JPEG format in size between 4 KB and 30 KB.
- Copy of category/ subcategory certificate in JPG/ JPEG format in size between 50 KB and 300 KB.
Upload the correct images as per the specifications, as there will be no facility for correction.
Steps for Filling the IIFT Application Form
- Visit the official website as mentioned above and click on the link for the online application.
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ button.
- Read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration, and proceed.
- Provide the information along with a valid email ID and active mobile number for registration.
- After the registration is complete, an application number will appear on the screen.
- Now, log in using the application number and password to complete the application form. Fill in all the details asked for.
- Upload the scanned images of the candidate’s photograph, signature, and certificates as per specifications.
- Make the application fee payment through your preferred mode.
- After successful fee payment, a confirmation page will be generated. Take a print of the same.

IIFT Exam 2023 Other Details
IIFT 2023 Entrance Exam Admit Card
IIFT MBA entrance exam admit cards will be issued online through the official website. Candidates can download the same using their login credentials. Admit cards have details about the exam day, date, timing, venue, and general instructions. No request for change in the examination center will be accepted under any circumstances. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without an admit card. Admit cards will be issued only through online mode and will not be sent by post to any candidate under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to keep the admit card safe till the admission process ends.
Documents/ Items to be carried to the Exam Center
- IIFT MBA entrance exam 2023 admit card
- One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded in the application form)
- One valid government Photo ID (anyone - Driving License/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment No./ Ration Card)
- PwD Certificate, if applicable
- Transparent water bottle
- A small bottle of hand sanitizer (50mg)

IIFT 2023 Entrance Exam - Answer Key
NTA will display the answer key for the IIFT 2023 entrance exam after the exam on the official website. Candidates will also be provided with the opportunity to challenge the answer key for three days. A non-refundable fee of ₹ 200 per question will be charged for submitting objections against the answer key. After considering the objections, the final answer key will be prepared. The result will be announced based on the final answer key.
IIFT 2023 Entrance Exam Result
IIFT MBA entrance exam results will be declared in December 2022. The result was prepared based on the final answer key. The raw scores secured by the candidates will be converted into NTA scores (percentile). Candidates will be able to download their scores through the official website. A list of shortlisted candidates for the next round of the admission process will also be released online. There will be no re-checking of the result.
IIFT 2023 Entrance Exam - GD and Interview
Those who are shortlisted through the computer-based test will be called for the Writing Assessment, Group Discussion, and Interview round. These will be held in February/ March 2022 at the following centers:

Written Ability Test (WAT) - Candidates are required to submit an essay on a given topic. Evaluation will be done based on clarity, ability to comprehend, the technique of presentation, and expression of ideas.
Group Discussion (GD) - Discussion on a given topic in groups. Evaluation will be done based on leadership skills, communication, team player skills, content, and ability to provide insight.
Personal Interview - In the personal interview round, candidates will be evaluated based on academic, extracurricular, and analytical performance.
