ICSI CS Selection Procedure
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is responsible for conducting all three stages of the Company Secretary programme. It is the statutory professional body with the objective of regulating, promoting and developing the profession of company secretaries in India. To become a fully-fledged CS, the eligible person needs to ‘apply for membership by passing all three levels of examinations prescribed by ICSI and completing a period of practical training.’
Based on the performance in the exam (all three phases), the Institute awards degrees and memberships to the eligible persons. ICSI CS is conducted in three stages –
- ICSI CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET)
- ICSI CS Executive Programme
- ICSI CS Professional Programme
ICSI CS 2022 Latest Updates –
-ICSI is going to declare the result for Professional (Old & New Syllabus) and Executive (Old & New Syllabus) Exams conducted in December 2021 on 25th February 2022.
-CSEET has replaced the Foundation programme. Admission to the Executive programme will now be done based on the CSEET score.
-Examination schedule for Foundation, Executive and Professional has been declared.

ICSI CS Exam 2022 Pattern & Syllabus
As mentioned above, the Foundation programme has been replaced by CSEET. The pattern for the CSEET exam is mentioned under:
It will be a single day exam comprising:
- A computer-based test of 120 minutes
- Viva voice of 15 minutes
The computer-based test will have four parts viz. Business Communication, Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning, Economic & Business Environment, and Current Affairs.
The viva-voice will test the candidate on Presentation and Communication skills.

Each paper in Executive and Professional examinations carries 100 marks. The papers, such as (i) Cost and Management Accounting, (ii) Tax Laws and Practice and (iii) Industrial, Labour & General Laws will be organised in OMR mode.
Qualifying Marks for CS Examination
Candidates should have scored 40% marks in each subject and 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects.
ICSI CS Exam 2022 Eligibility
There are three stages/ levels to become a Company Secretary. Take a look at the below-furnished programmes and their eligibility criteria.
- ICSI CSEET: The exam can be pursued by students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent students of Arts, Commerce or Science stream (excluding Fine Arts)
- ICSI CS Executive Programme: Persons who have a Bachelor’s Degree are eligible (except Fine Arts)
- ICSI CS Professional Programme: To pursue the Professional Course, one must qualify for the Executive Programme of CS course
ICSI CS Exam 2022 Application Process
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India invites applications from interested and eligible candidates in online mode. Students are encouraged to log on to the official website. “Online registration facility is available at Institutes student portal – www.icsi.edu.” Before filling in the online application, candidates are advised to follow the instructions carefully and ensure that all the particulars are correct. Remember, the application fee will be paid through credit card, debit card, net banking, etc.
Upon successful completion of registration, candidates will receive the Registration Number through an SMS/ Email. Or, they can simply visit the authorised website of ICSI and check the registration status on the basis of Mobile Number, Application Number, Email ID, etc. They can further get hold of the Registration Letter and Important Instructions by using the Registration Number.
ICSI CS Exam Step by Step Application Process -
- Visit the authorised web portal of ICSI
- Choose the tab that says ‘Online Services’ on the top bar
- From the drop-down menu, select ‘Register for CS Course’
- On this new page, candidates are advised to keep the documents (mentioned below) to complete the registration
- Select the link ‘Proceed to Registration’ to proceed further
- Here, students will have to furnish details such as ‘Basic Details (Tab 1), Education Details (Tab 2), Source of Information (Tab 3), Document Details (Tab 4), Preview (Tab 5) and Payment (Tab 6)’
- After successful payment, a system-generated Transaction ID will be created and the registration for the particular CS course will be done
- Students will be intimated about the registration status through Email/ SMS
Must-have Documents Candidates Require before Registration –
Amongst the main documents, one should possess the scanned copies of the photograph of the candidate, roll number (in appearing), DOB (as per 10th pass certificate), category certificate (if applicable), identity proof (ration card/ pan card/ Aadhaar card/ voter ID/ driving license) roll number, signature of the candidate, etc. Make sure all the files should be in JPG/ BMP/ PDF/ JPEG/ PNG/ GIF format. The maximum size should be 2 MBs. The photo should be between 20kb and 50kb. The signature should be between 10kb and 20kb.

How to Claim/ Reimburse the Application Fee?
ICSI reserves the right to exempt students from paying the Postal Tuition Fee, Registration/ Admission Fee, Exemption, etc. usually payable during the admission process. For this, the Authority will consider the performance of the candidates in all three stages of CS exams. Students must note that they are required to make the payment first and then claim for a refund in the prescribed application form. The Institute will then select the eligibility of the persons to reimburse the amount.
ICSI CS Exam 2022 Other Details
ICSI CS 2022 Admit Card
Students can download the ICSI CS admit card 2022 from the official website. The admit card will have details such as the name of the candidate, exam time and venue, etc. It is compulsory for the candidate to carry their examination admit card to the venue.
ICSI CS Result 2022
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India will declare the ICSI CS result 2022 after the completion of the examination. It will be announced on the ICSI website. The result can be seen using the Roll Number. The result page will have –
