The exam is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for recruitment to the post of Probationary Officers/Management Trainee (PO/MT). Candidates are selected based on the preliminary exam, main exam, and interview. Selected candidates are offered an appointment in any of the 11 participating banks in India.

- The Application form will be released in August 2023, and the last date to submit the same will be in August 2023.
- The Prelims Exam will be conducted on 23rd, 30th September, and 1st October 2023.

IBPS PO 2023 Pattern & Syllabus
The IBPS PO examination will be conducted in the following three phases:
- Preliminary Exam – Online
- Main Exam – Online
- Interview – Offline
Candidates will be eligible to appear for the next phase after clearing the previous phase. In other words, those who qualify for the Preliminary exam can appear in Main and those who qualify for Main will be called for the Interview round. All the sections (except the English Language) will be in both Hindi and English languages. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for the question left unanswered.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for the question left unanswered. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English languages except for English Language and English Language (Letter and Essay Writing).
Interview Round
Candidates shortlisted through the Main examination will be called for the Interview round. Information related to the venue, date, and timings of the interview will be informed through the call letter which can be downloaded from the official website. Candidates must note that any request for changing the venue, date, and timings of the interview will not be entertained. Total marks allotted for interview are 100, and minimum qualifying marks should not be less than:
- 40% for General category candidates
- 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates
The final merit list is prepared on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the Main exam and interview round. The ratio for the Main exam and Interview round marks is 80:20.
IBPS PO Exam Syllabus 2023
IBPS has not prescribed any specific syllabus for the exam. Candidates can prepare from various books available in the market for banking examinations. These books are designed after analyzing the previous years’ exam pattern and cover all the topics of IBPS PO exam syllabus such as reasoning, data analysis and interpretation, banking awareness, general awareness, etc.
IBPS PO 2023 Eligibility
Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the IBPS PO 2023 exam. They are required to produce the documents in support of their eligibility (as mentioned in the online application form) at the time of the interview. Here are the eligibility criteria:
Nationality
Candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan Refugee (moved to India before 1st Jan 1962), migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, and East African countries (person of Indian origin).
Age (as of 1st August 2023)
- Minimum age: 20 years
- Maximum age: 30 years
In other words, the candidates should not have been born before 2nd August 1992 and after 1st August 2002 (both dates inclusive). Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories. The official notification will list the relaxation criteria.
Educational Qualification
A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University is required to be eligible for the exam. Candidates are required to enter the marks obtained in their graduate degree at the time of registering for the exam.
IBPS PO 2023 Application Process
Candidates can access the online application form for IBPS PO 2023 exam only through the online mode at the official website of IBPS – www.ibps.in within the specified dates. Applications will not be accepted through any other mode.
Documents Required for Application Submission
Scanned images of:
- Candidate’s passport-size photograph (4.5cm x 3.5cm) with 200 x 230 pixels. The file size should be between 20 KB to 50 KB. The photograph should be recent and colored.
- Candidate’s signature with 140 x 60 pixels. The file size should be between 10 KB to 20 KB. The signature should not be in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Left thumb impression
- A hand-written declaration with the content “I_______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.” The declaration should not be in CAPITAL LETTERS.

- Look for the ‘CRP PO/MT’ link on the home-page menu and click it.
- Now click on the ‘Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers/Management Trainees IX’ link.
- Click on the link ‘CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRP-PROBATIONARY OFFICERS/ MANAGEMENT TRAINEES (CRP-PO/MT-IX)’
- Click on the ‘CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION’ link at the top of the page and enter the details to complete the registration process.
- After successful registration, a registration number and password will be sent to your registered email id and mobile number.
- Now again, come to the log-in page and use your registration number and password to log in.
- Fill in all the details carefully, and provide the order of preference for the banks you want to work with.
- Upload the scanned images of your photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.
- Pay the requisite application fee.
- Once the application fee process is complete, check all the details carefully before hitting the ‘FINAL SUBMIT’ button.
- Take a printout of the completed application form after final submission for future records.
IBPS Exam Application Fee
Candidates must pay the application fee as per the category they belong to. Here are the details of the application fee:
- SC/ST/PWD – ₹ 175/-
- All other categories – ₹ 850/-
Please note that the application fee can be paid only online using Debit Cards (Visa/RuPay/Maestro/MasterCard), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, Mobile Wallets/Cash Cards, and IMPS.

IBPS PO Exam Day Guidelines 2023 – Candidates Need To Follow
- Wearing masks is compulsory.
- Candidates can carry sanitizer (50ml), pen, gloves and a transparent water bottle.
- Aarogya Setu app is compulsory on mobile phones.
- Carry IBPS PO admit card along with photo-identity proof to the exam center.
- Reach the exam center as per the slot mentioned on the admit card to avoid overcrowding.
- Carry two passport-sized photographs along with the admit card.
- Candidates who will reach the exam center late will not be allowed to appear in the exam.
- Any electronic gadgets like mobile phones, calculators, pagers, pen drive, etc are not permitted inside the exam center.
- Stationery items like textbooks, papers, pencil box, scale, writing pad, etc., are not allowed.
- The biometric impression will be captured at the exam center therefore, candidates are advised not to put Mehendi on their hands.
IBPS PO 2023 Exam Admit Cards/Call Letters
Different admit cards are issued for each stage of the IBPS PO examination. All admit cards will be made available through the official website of IBPS. No hard copies of the admit card/call letters will be posted to any candidate under any circumstances. Here are the steps to download the admit card/call letter:
- Go to the official IBPS website.
- Click on the link for admit card on the home page.
- Enter your registration number and password to log in.
- Admit card will appear.
- Download and take a printout.
Admit card is a mandatory document. No candidate will be permitted to enter the examination hall without producing the admit card. Download it well before the examination to avoid a last-minute rush.
