Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD)
The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is a top-ranked IIT college in India. It has been declared as the ‘Institute of national importance’ by the Government of India in 1963. It has been granted a status of a Deemed University. Hence, it functions on the autonomous lines. This highly reputed college of engineering was established in 1961 with an aim to bring about technological and scientific advancements in the country.

IITD: On-Campus Facilities
- Area – The IITD campus is spread in an area of 325 acres. It is located in the South Delhi near to JNU, NIFT, AIIMS, and IIFT.
- The IITD campus is divided into four administrative blocks- Academic Block, Student Residential Block, Staff Residential Block, and Recreational Block for students.
- The IITD provides quality engineering education to students by facilitating them access to the modern laboratories, library, sports, research facilities, and clubs. There are canteens, shopping complex, and banking facilities within the college campus.
IITD: Admission Procedure
Eligibility Criteria for B. Tech Course
- Admissions will be done on the basis of candidates score in the IIT JEE Advanced 2018 exam.
- A student should have passed Class 12th or equivalent in PCM subjects from a recognised board. The Mathematics and Physics should be the compulsory subjects in Class 12th.
Eligibility Criteria for M. Tech Course
- A student should have passed B.E/ B. Tech or equivalent from a recognised college/university.
- Admissions are done on the basis of candidates score in the GATE exam.
Eligibility Criteria for M. Sc. Course
- Admissions are done on the basis of students score in the JAM (Joint Admission Test for M. Sc.).
- A student should have completed Bachelors in the related stream with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks to become eligible for admission. The reserved category candidates should have a minimum score of 50% marks.
Eligibility for Ph. D course
A student should have completed B. Tech in the related stream with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks to become eligible for admission.
