Popularly known as MAIT, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology is a reputable technical school offering degree programmes at UG and PG level. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Mait is a public–private partnership engineering college with 10 departments (Three-Auxiliary, Four-Research and Five-Engineering).

The journey of Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology had begun way back in 1999 when a group of eminent personalities, professionals, philanthropists, businessmen and industrialists established this educational institute. It aims to cater high quality technical education as well as well-designed practical training programmes to students. Today, MAIT is a household name and has emerged as one of the finest technical schools in the country. It has continuously been ranked amongst the best engineering colleges by DATAQUEST.

In the year 1999, the institute had its first batch, which comprised 180 B.Tech students. That was a huge achievement at that time. At present, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology boasts Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree. Bachelor’s Degree has five disciplines of - Mechanical and Automation Engineering (120 seats + 60 seats), Computer Science and Engineering (180 seats + 60 seats), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (120 seats + 60 seats), Electronics and Communication Engineering (120 seats + 60 seats) and Information Technology (120 seats + 60 seats). The Master’s Degree has MBA Programme in Master of Business Administration (120 seats + 60 seats).

The technical school flaunts a beautiful campus that has 12 blocks, including auditorium, gym, boys hotel, an admin block with high speed internet connection, library and modern laboratories. The learning atmosphere at MAIT is highly conducive for growth in students. Over the years, the institute has done remarkable job as its alumni can be seen contributing significantly in various spheres and industries – research, social, government, business and other domains.

Admission to MAIT courses is done through IPU CET exam conducted by GGSIPU. Besides that students in second year diploma can get lateral entries (some seats are reserved for diploma holders).

Eligibility for B.Tech Programmes:

The eligibility criterion for B.Tech programmes has been fixed by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

  • Students must have Class XII certificate with 55% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. (Recognised Board)
  • They must have English as core or elective or functional subject and have passed in the subject.

Eligible candidates must appear in IPU CET exam conducted by GGSIPU. They will be selected on the basis of ranks. GGSIPU also organises the counselling process after the exam.

How to Apply for IPU CET Exam?

There are two application forms to be filled. Application 1 requires students to give –

  • Personal details
  • Academic details
  • Photograph (JPEG/GIF, 80 KB, 30mm x 45 mm)
  • Signature (JPEG/GIF, 80 KB, 80 mm x 35 mm)
  • Thumb Impression (JPEG/GIF, 80 KB, 30 mm x 60 mm)

Application 2: Here, students need to provide their preferred courses. They will need to pay the application fee, which is ₹ 1,000/-. Once the fee is paid through net banking, credit card or debit card, a confirmation page will be sent to the concerned students. This confirms that the forms are submitted.
