Exam Pattern for PAT

The exam will be an OMR based test where candidates are required to mark their responses using a black ball pen. The question paper will be of class X level. Here are the details:

PAT 2023 Syllabus

No separate syllabus has been issued for PAT 2023. As per the official notification, the exam will be based on the class X level. Thus, candidates must prepare for all the topics in Science and Mathematics of class X.

Assam PAT Exam 2023 Eligibility

Nationality/ Domicile

Applicant must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. The PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) is to be submitted at the time of counselling. 

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the H.S.L.C (class X) or equivalent level examination with Science and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The minimum percentage marks in the qualifying exam are as under:

Age Limit

The upper age limit for different categories is as under:

For institutions outside Assam, the upper age limit is 20 years 6 months as on 31st December 2023.

Physical Fitness

Candidates must submit a fitness certificate (from a registered medical practitioner) at the time of admission.

Assam PAT Exam 2023 Application Process

PAT 2023 application will be accepted only through the online mode. Applications will not be accepted through any other mode. Applicants are advised to fill out the application form well before the last date to avoid the last-minute rush.

Documents to be Uploaded

The following documents are to be uploaded while filling out the application form:

• Scanned image of candidate’s recent photograph in .jpg format. The file size should not exceed 100 KB.
• Scanned image of candidate’s signature in .jpg format. The file size should not exceed 100 KB.

PAT Registration/ Application Process

• Visit the official website for PAT at https://patassam.online/.
• Click on the ‘Click here to Apply’ button after reading the instructions.
• The application form will appear on the screen. Fill in all the details carefully.
• Upload the scanned image of the photograph and signature.
• Click the ‘Submit’ button to save the application.
• After the application is submitted successfully, a unique application number will be generated. Read the instructions on the screen carefully and move to the ‘Next’ step.
• You will be taken to the payment portal. Select ‘PAT 2023’ as the payment category and enter the details asked for viz. Application number, name, DoB, exam center, category, contact number, community information, etc.
• The application fee can be paid via online or offline mode.
• After successful fee payment, a fee receipt will be generated. Keep it safe for future reference.

Payment status will be reflected in the candidate's profile within 5 to 7 business days. Candidates can check the same using their login details.

NOTE: No hard copy of the application form needs to be submitted to the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

PAT 2023 Application Fee

Application fee - ₹ 500/-

The fee payment can be made using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Payment can also be made in cash at any branch of the State Bank of India after generating Cash Deposit Form while filling out the online application form.

Assam PAT Exam 2023 Other Details

Assam PAT Admit Card 2023

PAT 2023 admit card release date will be in July 2023 and will be released on the official website. Candidates must keep a check on the official website for the same. Admit card is a mandatory document for appearing in the exam. It can be downloaded using the registration ID and password through the following steps:

• Visit the official site.
• Click on the link for the online PAT 2023 application.
• Click on ‘Applicant Login’ and enter your credentials to log in.
• Click on the ‘Download Admit Card’ option.
• The admit card will be generated. Take a print of the same.

Assam Polytechnic Result 2023

• The Assam Polytechnic result 2023 will be  released in August 2023 on the official website.
• Those who have appeared for the exam will be able to check their marks using the login credentials.
• Visit the official website and download your PAT 2023 result. You can take a print of the same for future references.

PAT 2023 Counselling

The counselling process will start in August 2023. Qualified candidates are required to appear for the counselling process. The choice of college and branch of Engineering will be based on the merit in the PAT exam.

The following documents are required at the time of counselling (in original and self-attested photocopy):

• Mark sheets of the qualifying exam
• Age proof (self-attested photocopy of Admit Card or Certificate of the Board/ University)
• Character certificate
• GAP certificate (format in official notification)
• Caste certificate
• OBC/ MOBC/ Tea-Garden/ Ex-Tea Garden Labour Community Certificate
• Moran community certificate
• Sport and NCC certificate
• Certificate against freedom fighter category
• Certificate against retired defense personnel quota
• Certificate against Central Government Employees quota
• Identity card as Differently Abled (if applicable)

• EWS category certificate
