The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) for the appointment of Assistant Professors. Changes in UGC NET

• The exam pattern has been changed w.e.f 2018. Instead of three papers, there will be only two papers. However, there is no change in syllabus. Paper-II will cover the entire syllabus of earlier Paper II and III.
• The upper age limit for the award of JRF has been increased by 2 years. Earlier it was 28 years which is 30 years from the year 2018.
• The syllabi for the UGC NET exam have been updated w.e.f. July 2019.
