SBI Clerk 2019 Complete Syllabus – Preliminary and Main Phase Exam
Every year, the State Bank of India (SBI) conducts recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in clerical cadre. The examination is common amongst the aspirants as SBI Clerk exam. The article will cover the syllabus of the exam in detail. However, before moving ahead, having a look at the exam pattern will help in understanding the syllabus better.
SBI has not yet released the official notification for the 2019 recruitment. However, no changes are expected in the exam pattern and syllabus.
SBI Clerk 2019 Exam Pattern -
The selection process for the clerical post comprises of:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Test of specified opted local language
Preliminary Examination
The exam will be conducted online comprising of 100 objective type questions from the following sections:

Candidates who qualify the Preliminary phase examination will be shortlisted for the Main Phase. “No minimum qualifying marks for any individual subject as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed,” states the official notification.

Objective type questions will be asked from each of the above sections. The question paper will be in both Hindi and English languages (except for the English section). There will be a provision of negative marking where 1/4th marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Test of Local Language
Those who qualify the Main exam have to take the specified opted local language test. Candidates not found proficient in the local language will be disqualified. Those who produce their class X/XII mark sheet/certificate as proof of studying the specified local language will be exempted from the test.
SBI Clerk 2019 Syllabus
The bank has not specified any syllabus for the exam. Candidates mainly prepare from the books available in the market which are compiled by the experts on the basis of the previous years’ question papers.

Simplification, Number System, Number Series, Roots & Average, Data Interpretation, Mensuration, Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Algebra, Profit and Loss, Time, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Probability, Mixture Problems, and Permutation and Combination.
Reasoning Ability
Classification & Analogy, Mathematical Inequalities, Arrangement & Pattern, Coding & Decoding, Ordering & Ranking, Syllogisms, Blood Relations, Directions & Distances, Data Sufficiency, Machine Input-Output, Circular Seating Arrangement, Linear Seating Arrangement, Scheduling, Double Line Up, and Grouping and Selection.

Many topics in the Preliminary and Main syllabus are same. So, candidates must categorize the topics smartly before starting their preparation.
