JIPMER 2019: The national level entrance examination is organised and conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research. Originated as École de Médicine de Pondichérry established in 1823 by the French Government, the medical college was later upgraded to Dhanvantari Medical College. And after a few years, it was again converted to JIPMER. The JIPMER 2019 is the gateway to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Super Speciality, PhD programmes, Fellowship, Certificate and Post Basic Diploma programmes.

After clearing the JIPMER Exam 2019, the eligible candidates will get admission in the medical course (MBBS) of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research and its affiliated campuses.

JIPMER 2019 Application Process:

The officials at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research have released the online notification and started the application process. Candidates can check out the step-by-step guide to fill the online application form for the JIPMER MBBS 2019 exam. Let’s take a look:

  • Visit JIPMER official website.
  • Look for ‘Apply Online for JIPMER MBBS 2019’ link and click.
  • Now the ‘Registration’ page will pop up.
  • Read the instructions and ‘Close’ the pop-up.
  • The candidates need to enter personal details like name, date of birth, email ID, mobile number, etc. Once the details are done, click on the ‘Register’ button.
  • The next step is to look for the ‘Go to Application Form’ link.
  • Here, the applicants are required to click on the ‘Login’ button using the login credentials sent to your email during the registration process.
  • After logging in, they need to fill various details such as personal, contact, qualification, address, etc.
  • Take your cursor to the ‘Browse’ button to select files for uploading. Scanned copies of signature and passport-size photograph needs to be uploaded. Ensure that the file size and the image format are correct.
  • Now the applicants are notified of the payment option. Remit the required amount using the credit card, debit card and net banking options.
  • Go through the declaration section before clicking on the ‘I Agree’ button. Also, it is advised to re-check or preview once before hitting the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

Application Fee:

The classification of the application fee is as follows –

  • General Category: ₹ 1,500/-
  • NRI/OCI: ₹ 3,000/-
  • SC/ST: ₹ 1,200/-
  • OPH: Exempted from fee payment

Note: The application fee is non-refundable. Make sure you are filling the form correctly.

JIPMER 2019 Exam Pattern & Syllabus:

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research will conduct the exam in online mode. It is a computer-based test (CBT) and the duration would be two and a half hours. Moreover, there will be two shifts – morning and afternoon, and the test would be conducted only in the English language. All the questions would be objective types. There would be no negative marking scheme for wrong answers.

JIPMER will ask questions that are mainly based on the syllabus of CBSE XI & XII and SBHS (State Board Higher Secondary). To make it easy for the test-takers, mock test for the online mode examination is also made available. The candidates are advised to prepare the following subjects – Chemistry, Biology, Quantitative Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension, Logical & Quantitative Reasoning and Physics.

JIPMER 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

The JIPMER medical institute checks the eligibility of an applicant through the following –

  • National: He must be an India citizen. If the applicant is staying overseas, he too can apply for the exam.
  • Age: He must meet the age limit, which is 17 years old, at the time of filling the application form. JIPMER has not fixed the upper age limit bar.
  • Academic Qualification: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with more than 50% marks from the subjects like Physics, Biology or Biotechnology, Chemistry, English and one elective subject. He should have passed all the subjects individually. For reserved candidates and general-OPH, the minimum passing mark is 40% in PCB stream.

JIPMER 2019 Result:

The JIPMER 2019 result will be announced on the official website of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research. As per the official schedule, the merit list will be released on or before 21st June 2019.

JIPMER 2019 Counselling:

JIPMER 2019 counselling will be conducted in four rounds from 26th June to 26th September 2019. Candidates can check out the exact dates for the counselling rounds in the official information bulletin.
