Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of candidates, with a degree or diploma in Education, for teaching jobs in schools, under the administrative control of the Centre, State, or Union Territories. The exam covers Primary and Elementary level teaching jobs. The selection is done strictly on merit basis, and the certificate of eligibility issues to the qualified candidates remains valid for seven years from the date of result declaration. The application form will be made available to the candidates through the official CTET website. CTET Application form can be submitted only through the online mode. Candidates need to visit the official website and go through the instructions before filling the form. CTET Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should meet with any one of the following eligibility criteria:
For primary level aspirants (I to V)
- Must have scored at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary and passed/pursuing the final year of two-year Diploma course in Elementary Education.
- Must have passed class 12th with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- Must have passed class 12th with minimum 50% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Must have passed 12th class with 45% marks and passed/appearing in the final year of Elementary Education Diploma, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
- Must have done graduation and passed/appearing in the final year of Diploma in Elementary Education
For elementary level aspirants (VI to VIII)
- Candidates who have passed graduation and passed/pursuing the final year of two-year diploma in elementary education are eligible for this exam.
- Passed graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and passed/appearing in a one-year Bachelor of Education course.
- Passed graduation with at least 45% marks and passed/pursuing one-year Bachelor of Education in accordance with NCTE Regulations.
- Obtained a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks and passed/appearing in one-year B.Ed. course (Special Education).
- Have passed the 12th exam with a minimum of 50% marks and passed/appearing in the last year of a four-year Bachelor in Elementary Education programme.
- Have passed the 12th exam with at least 50% marks and passed/pursuing last year of four-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed.

CTET 2019 Application Fee Details
For successful submission of application form, candidates will have to pay the prescribed application fee amount. The application fee can be paid through both offline and online modes. Category-wise application fee details are:
For Paper I or Paper II (Any One)
General/OBC – ₹ 700/-
SC/ST/Differently Abled Persons – ₹ 350/-
For Paper I and Paper II (Both)
General/OBC – ₹ 1200/-
SC/ST/Differently Abled Persons – ₹ 600/-
Online fee payment can be made through Debit/Credit Card while offline fee payment can be done through e-challan by depositing cash at Syndicate or Canara Bank.
CTET 2019 Exam Pattern
The CTET exam will be conducted for two papers – Paper I and Paper II. Each paper will be conducted in different sessions of two-and-a-half hours each. Here is the structure of both the papers:
Exam Pattern for Paper I (for classes I to V)
150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are asked from the following sections (30 questions from each section). Each question carries 1 mark.

CTET Admit Card 2019 -
CTET 2019 Admit card is an essential document for CTET 2019 examination. Without it, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. Candidate can get this admit card from the official website through their registered ID and password. Don’t forget to carry it to the examination venue along with a valid ID proof such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, Passport, Voter Id, etc.
CTET 2019 Answer Key -
The CTET answer key will be displayed on the official website along with the scanned images of the OMR sheet. Candidates can tally their answers with the official answer key and get an idea about their expected scores. Separate answer keys will be released for both the papers. Scanned images of the OMR sheets can be accessed through the registered user ID and password.
CTET Result & Cut Off 2019 -
The CTET result will be declared within six weeks of the date of examination through the official website. Candidates can check the same through their log-in ID and password. The minimum qualifying marks for CTET is 60%. A CTET eligibility certificate is awarded to those who secure 60% or above. The score remains valid for seven years; however, candidates can appear for the exam before seven years in order to improve their CTET score.

It is two hours and thirty minutes for each paper.
What action is taken if any candidate is found using unfair means during the examination?
Using unfair means in the examination hall will be considered a criminal offence. If any candidate is found indulged in copying from other candidate’s copy or caught in doing any activity mentioned under ‘Unfair Means’ section of the official notification, his/her candidature will be cancelled, and he/she will be liable for criminal action.
When will the result of CTET 2019 be declared?
